For me The Chasm is a spiritual successor to what early At the Gates and Sacramentum tried to achieve.

Abso-fricking-lutely! I would go as far as to say they surpassed early At The Gates’ level starting from “Deathcult For Eternity: The Triumph” alone.

Love all three and I know they do like old ATG but the range of influences covered and way they structure their songs is very different.

Come to think of it, but for me, early At The Gates were arguably just outright pissed on by The Chasm with their Deathcult album onwards.
