I just built my first kit guitar, basically a jackson V with a floating trem. No experience finishing wood before, holy shit that was a journey. Such a rewardibg experience though and now i want to build a ricky!
@wardengrn6 ай бұрын
Been looking at these, pango music in China sells them but others are flipping them for extra $100 bucks. Would love to hear it. Have a rick Dakota 650 and would like a semi hollow. Pango says they will customize it. I like the traditional rick style head and pango sells it already in the 3 humbucker solid body style. I wasn't able to see it in fret wire

For whatever reason, I only recently found Doyle Dykes. He's absolutely amazing in both talent and interpretation. I won't compare them in terms of "better than" but I am reminded of Tommy Emmanuel. Ranking them in relation to each other would be a disservice to both. I've seen Tommy many times and spoken with him as well, and he expresses nothing but respect and admiration for anyone who gives their best to the instrument. One thing about Tommy is that my favorite pieces by him are his own compositions, such as "Those Who Wait" and "Angelina." I'm curious to know if Doyle composes any of his own pieces. I've searched him out on KZbin now that I've found out about him and haven't seen him perform his own music. That's no criticism, as I said, he's awesome. Just curious. Also thanks for to the algorithm for showing him to me and shame on it for taking so long!

The first time that I saw him was on Larry's Country Diner. And, I was blown away with his picking skills, especially with a six string. If you close your eyes you would think that he was playing the 12 string guitar. I would rate him up there with the likes of Roy Clark, Chet Atkins and Glenn Campbell. And that's going some, to rate him that high. However, let's not forget Jimmi Hendricks and of course Eddie Van Halen, the two best rock guitarist. I won't say exactly where he rates but he's in with some awesome guitae players.

That Olson really is so gorgeous and plays so beautifully. Love the Beatles Medley. Almost as good as when you play it on one of your 12 String guitars. Bravo for this performance! Very enjoyable.

I got this one from thefretwire.com/ I'm not seeing this exact kit on their site. They'll probably have it in stock after the new year.

I bought this kit 3 years ago from the Fretwire as well, but I haven't seen it on their site in the last year or so, and in the past when they're out of stock they still list the product on their website but would give an estimated date as to when it would be back in stock. My guess is that Rickenbacker may have got on to or discovered they're an American company selling the kits or something of the sort. Another company based out of Australia sells the same kit, although it's a bit more expensive due to shipping costs than what the Fretwire used to sell it at. Sorry for the delayed response. This is not my first guitar nor will it be the last. The biggest thing is to take your time. My biggest mistakes happen when I get inpatient and rush things. The other thing to remember, you are going to make mistakes. It's ok and most of the time you can fix it with a lot of elbow grease. I appreciate you taking the time to check out my video.

He plays each of the individual artists. He said, one time on stage, that his style is a combination of many artists. He had to figure each one out and incorporate his favorite parts of each, into building his style. And he DOES have his own style! I heard him, one time, on a video, made in a store; someone asked him how many artists he could play like...so he showed them. He started playing a tune and each time he would get done playing like one artist, he would "call on" another artist, but it was him all along, but you'd swear it was that artist he was playing like! The guy is AMAZING !!! They don't make SHOWMEN like Him, every day
