I wish there was this much unity and motivation in my schools drumline and frankly my schools band overall. Everyone in my band just whines about having rehearsals and starts drama. No one practices either

How can you play for the football team yet be in band at the same time?? You can’t be in 2 places at once. Somethings not adding up here. 🤔

Brookwood highschool Atl Georgia, march a band of 300, 10 snares 7 bases 5 quads (one injured rn) 8 cymbals, will all be clean in a few weeks it's one helluva experience

There is no way in hell a high school drumline with ten snares will be remotely clean. It isn't possible.

They probably have a middle school drumline so the kids are more experienced when they join.
@1hotday18 жыл бұрын
I'll guess. Probably more than just one factor. A knowledgeable percussion staff is probably the biggest part of it. Along with a knowledgeable staff, they probably give a lot of attention to their bass line: arguably the most important part to a good drumline. It doesn't hurt to have nice weather (65 degree +) all year round. Equally as important as staff, the kids are intrinsically motivated to do their best. Listen to how they talk. They speak about the drumline as if it were a job. They are very professional. Don't sell yourself short Katy Bovey. Your drumline might have all the elements that they have at Ayala. The last element I'd like to add is time. it takes time to develop skills. Have fun marching this upcoming season. Also, some say "practice makes perfect," but an old music teacher around my way use to say "perfect practice makes permanent." Good luck to you and your drumline.
