Hi Jaedon, that might be the case, I bought the sheet music a while ago. If you're just looking to play Feldman you can still find "All alone by the Vibraphone" which has some of the same pieces as "Mallets in Wonderland" in it.

last question what does *1) and *2) mean at the beginning
@heavyvibes902 жыл бұрын
Footnotes, just look at the bottom of the page the asterisks are on. There you will find ab explanations of dead strokes and mallet dampening.
@Gilles-k7i2 жыл бұрын
they are not playing why smother them I understand better then on the first measure we stifle the note b c and b?

Yes, the notes you are supposed to dampen are b, c and b again.
@Gilles-k7i2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the notes c d c in the cross at the first measure
@heavyvibes902 жыл бұрын
The X is a symbol that indicates mallet dampening, which I described in my previous comment. The X is not to be played, it just shows that the previously played note should be dampened. The X can be placed anywhere in the general vicinity of the note supposed to be dampened, Mr Zivkovic just happened to put them where usually the c and the d is located. I hope that cleared things up for you.
@Gilles-k7i2 жыл бұрын
is it like a flams?
@Gilles-k7i2 жыл бұрын
I do not understand the choking of the note C when it is not played in the first measure, it escapes me, can you explain to me, we therefore stifle the note C D and C? thanks for your explanation
@heavyvibes902 жыл бұрын
I'm not exactly sure if this is what you are asking, but the a# grace note in the first measure is played like a flam. After that it's just regular mallet dampening, meaning striking the next note with one mallet while simultaneously dampening the ringing note with the other mallet. In this case c, b and a.

Very nice. I'd play it slower, as intended, and maybe with a little rubato, but you're making much fewer mistakes than others (and much fewer than I was doing when I was still in music school). This is probably the best recording on KZbin, based on audio quality and accuracy. You have a new subscriber :)
