Big weakness for me. I usually try to grab everything openhanded, and when a pinch is required takes me a minute to remember I can do that.

Great piece of gear. Super happy with mine and it's replacing my sleeping bag in my bikepacking kit.

Best LW Down coat I’ve ever had. I was able to snag one new for $90 shipped. I bought it to big but whatever, it’s so warm and whatever they coated the down in works. I walked in sleet with it and it held up and kept me very warm. Got a little heavy but not really.

with millions of dollars spent on bike paths and allowing bikes on most hiking trails it's absurd to argue the lane laws up on a mountain road. get the fuck out of the cars way they could be going to work while you are having fun drinking beers and bike riding, cars don't have other trails bikers do, if you got a problem with a car honking at you go ride one of the millions of dollars of bike trails, or hiking trails that cars are not allowed on moron.

@@edb9564 I figured it out. You have to pull/pry the plastic thing out and then adjust.

@@JJacob wow thanks for replying. I pulled mine up and pulled it out, not budging on mine. I put a lot of force on it and nothing moved. I'm afraid of breaking it. Ill probably stop by the store and see what I'm doing wrong. Thank again.
@edb9564
@edb9564 Ай бұрын
@@JJacobI just figured mine out! You actually have to push in the red plastic piece that holds the straps on mine. Then the straps are free to slide, then grab all the straps at once and pull out and the red piece snaps back in place and locks the straps.

Good thing that you're not planning to eat or drink on your trip. I didn't see much space for water bottles or food, not to mention a stove for coffee in the morning.
@michaelrodia
@michaelrodia Жыл бұрын
Yes, that was one of the perks of the trip. Being centered around breweries we were always in and out of a town for food and coffee in the mornings. The Camelbak vest had 1.5 L in it and I had a collapsible bottle in the frame bag for when I needed to carry a little extra!

Good video .. but if tent wet your sleeping bag will be wet and smelly ..food cook set first aid kits tools repairs parts wash kit etc ??????
@michaelrodia
@michaelrodia Жыл бұрын
True, given the weather forecast we had I felt confident on leaving the tent bag behind. For food this route was focused on visiting breweries so no need to cook at camp. Adding a cook kit and food would have changed this set up drastically. For first aid, I had some small items in my personal toiletries kit and we had two full first aid kits among the four riders. I carried a small bag for repairs as mentioned in the video. In there I had a tube, plugs, c02 refill, master link, and multitool. With all of us carrying a small kit and being in and out of towns we felt that was adequate. In the video you can see Ryan putting his bike back together after a caliper started acting up, so mechanicals do happen!

Holla from an EMS Alum! Way to get after it!!! Take a trip out to Hill Farmstead if you get the chance. Stopped by there almost ten years ago on a road trip, and it was one of the more memorable breweries I've been to.

I am really impressed with the design and apparent quality of the quilts. Buttons are real solid. Reinforced stitching where needed, and 1.5 lb for the 30 long is a really nice weight.
