Thanks for the video. I have this pad but in the long and wide version. Considering buying this for when my girlfriend camps with me so we are not on two separate mattresses with a gap and them being at different heights. Now that you've had it a while how has it held up? Any notable movement when one person rolls or tosses and turns in the night?
@paquetteadventures412019 күн бұрын
Thank you for watching the video. As for the pad, it has held up very well, with no loss of air during the night and very minimal notice of movement from my wife and vice versa. Hopefully, this will help with your decision.

I agree, the fish is the best, its a must when in Killarney. As for the winner for the bag of chip, it was me, but I shared it with the kiddos. Thanks for watching.

Thank you for watching, and I think going in September is a perfect time to go, no bugs. We are planning another trip next week, next month, and in October.

Tips for Backcountry pancakes, bring ready crisp bacon to oil up the pan. Also we use a small fire instead of the stove, seems to burn less.

Next time try can chicken ,it seems to rehydrate better. If you get to the U.S. go to Wally's they have chicken in a pouch that works out excellent for all kinds of meals ,I always stock up on it when I go down there. Another great video guys.

We use Avenza Map on our phones, works great since it give you your exact location in your travels. You are also able to upload Jeff Maps to Avenza. I did create a video on how to use Avenza last year. Thank you for the watching.

I was out from the 7th to 10th and the black flies were all ready out and just starting to bite. The OvaEasy eggs are great ,alot better than the eggs in a bag and boiling water and well worth the extra effort to make and clean up. I'm lucky as I have a sister in Missouri so I get my eggs shipped to her and I get free shipping and just pick them up when I go visit. Great videos keep them coming.

How do you like the elevate ts rails with the tri fold cover and does it leak water in the rain? I was about to buy it this week and real truck told me they no longer recommend it with trifold covers because they leak between the tonneau cover rail and elevate ts rail.
@paquetteadventures41202 ай бұрын
I really like my elevate rack system with the tri fold. There are not too many racks that allow you to have a rack and fold up a tri fold. However, it does leak, it's not a crazy amount of water, but it does get wet inside the box. I never took the time to see if I could minimize or stop the leak. That's my plan this summer. Hopefully, this helps.

Hi, so did you drill some new holes in vertical columns at your desired height?

Hello, I did, and it worked great for my kayaks, but the newer racks come with 3 different levels of adjustments. A lot better.

Pretty cool video, at this time of year (April) my heart and soul get into planning mode for my trips for the year, which is how I happened on your video. You asked for comments about options to recharge your battery bank(s), I use the X-DRAGON 40W Portable Foldable Solar Panel to charge my Anker Power Bank during the day while paddling. It is water resistant, at 40W it delivers more than enough "juice" to refill my power bank.
@paquetteadventures41203 ай бұрын
Yep, April was busy for me too, a lot of planning and purchasing new lighter gear. Thanks for the recommendation on the solar panel, I will have a look. Trips are getting longer, so I will need the extra source of power.

Strap the rear of the Kayaks to the front of your racks. This will keep them from sliding back and will prevent you from having to strap to your hood.
@paquetteadventures41203 ай бұрын
That what I started to do and it works great, thank you for comment.

@paquetteadventures41203 ай бұрын
I don't have 4 kayaks to try, but I was able to fit 4 racks on the elevate rack with no problems. So I think you can fit 4 kayaks.

I wonder if this will fit a diff brand 2 person like the Nemo osmo dagger 2p
@paquetteadventures41203 ай бұрын
To my suprise it should fit perfectly, the mat size is 1.27m W x 1.98m L and the Dagger 2p is 1.27m W x 2.29m L. However, it will not leave to much floor space in the tent.
@tangofoxtrot403 ай бұрын
@@paquetteadventures4120 wow thanks! Have you tested it in real life? Because I know dimensions on paper can be a bit diff in real life. If that is the case then maybe getting this for me and my husband would be the best option
@paquetteadventures41203 ай бұрын
That's the dimensions from the web sites, we use 3p tent and we have approximately 12" on one side. Just enough room for our dog.

Sealine dry bags are great, until the racoons chew through them and get your food. I found out that critters do not respect the hang.

@paquetteadventures41204 ай бұрын
Hello, The canoe is a Keewaydin made by Swift Canoe, the length is 17', weighs about 45lbs and cost about $6000.00. The one in this video is a rental, however, i just bought one a few weeks ago. I'm thinking about doing a video on the steps I took to purchase my canoe. Thanks

I never would have thought of using the deflation port to inflate this mat with the pump. I’ve only used my pump once with my rapide SL but used the rubber attachment and held it on the valve… which works but you can’t just leave it hands free. I was going to 3D print and adapter but I’m probably not going to bother now!
@paquetteadventures41204 ай бұрын
It's nice when you don't have to hold the pump in place, but to make a perfect fit I sanded down the large attachment with a fine sandpaper for the perfect fit. Thank for watching.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video, my favorite time to do backcountry trips is in the fall. Thule is so convoluted with their products. For a Rack system, Lock Rack is the absolute best. Bolts to the Elevate system with ease, and it secures the yak. The Thule does not "lock' you yak up.
