Happy New Year, Chasers! This is an excellent start to 2025, gents! My main memory or connection to SM22 isn't focused on the issue itself, but rather its trading card. Back in '91 when it first came out, I amassed a fair amount of the awesome Impel G.I. Joe trading card set (I'm still waiting for series 2!), and was able to fill in all the holes except one in the early 2000s. The last card I needed to complete the 200-card set was the one depicting this very issue. It took nearly 20 years to finally track it down, but it certainly makes this issue stand out in my mind. And can you imagine?: an open-world Joe game set on Cobra Island. That would be phenomenal.

I am going to say if it is a Tom Cruise movie you bet 👍🏻 he would get that Tomcat F14 off the deck of the USS Flagg and he would use the whole deck span and hit his thrusters turbo charged baby lmao 🤣 now I going to have to google it to see if it was ever done.

RailRoad Responds: I feel the Baroness is a survivor, and she has decided that her best chance of survival is to take out Cobra, who she knows is trying to kill her. Not a fan of Risk as he stands so far, am very much waiting for the other Joe team to make their arrival. As to their readiness, I still feels that as I mentioned earlier they are still trying to keep the GIANT FREAKING ROBOTS as quiet as possible so they are keeping it as in house and small so far.

The rage is one those vehicles I absolutely love and I remember seeing it in my store. I certainly have few in my collection and certainly love the design and when I do a convoy I put rage up front along with the scorpion cobra vehicle witch too I love and I believe its perfect couple and I can see this take on joe hammer. Such a awesome vehicle.. I still love the original colour scheme and to me it’s scream desert warfare and you certainly can see gulf war had influence that era of joe and I’m ok with that. There an awesome episode from dic that showed it in action in desert and it’s looks awesome but I don’t see it replace hiss at all

However the Night Creeper Leader is one figure I’m bit confused about to his look but I do like that panel show casein the rage as it’s fun vehicle. Anyway love to hear more about Steve adventures collecting joe in South Africa. Anyway keep up the great work

A great Boxing Day gift -- thanks, gents! The Night Creepers look cool on this cover. I wish they'd been better utilized over the years (Blue Ninjas aren't necessary!). Inside, MD Bright's art is some of my favorite in ARAH. And this issue is *further* proof that Snake Eyes' face *was not* (seriously) re-injured by the Payne Brothers. IMO, the series only went about 10 more issues before getting completely whacky, so this is an intriguing era of the book for me. Regarding the interesting topic of time between figure releases, Zap is the second longest OG13 gap between v1 and v2 (9 years). The first place honors go to none other than our leading lady, Scarlett, with 11 years between her '82 v1 and '93 Ninja Force v2. Others of note, v1 to v2: Shipwreck, Zartan, Major Bludd, Wild Bill, and Ace - 9 years; Firefly, Cutter, and Keel Haul - 8 years. Clutch had 10 years (and, sadly, a shave) between his v2 and v3 and his fellow tan man v2 Grunt went 8 years before his '91 v3 (and some hair dye).

@gijoburg Thank you! Scarlett, Zap, and Shipwreck I knew, but I'll freely admit that for most of those I only recalled that it "had been a while," and a peek at 3Djoes provided the concrete numbers. Now I might need to check all the increments for all re-releases. Snake Eyes was, off the top of my head: 3 years, 4, 2, 2, 1 (not including v1.5).

3:25 THAT moment in comic book resulted in THE BEST DUKE characterization. Flint got the proper treatment at times in the comic and that goes under the radar. But post-Trucial Abysmial Duke had so much potential..... 24:45 , I agree that is photoshop/Illustrator. That "blur" or "smudge" effect stands out to me on the Desert Striker with Flint. And I know people that I went to school with were getting internships at Hasbro, one of these people spent most of their time doing color studies of Transformers with these programs. These have to be an experimental wheel to distribute weight. It has to have been tried. It's like the big arctic tundra wheels that were used, you know the ones where they would roll the massive vehicles over people to show how they work. Low profile is very simple stealth. The "ram" may be more of a shield. With the wide body of the Rage, it's a very stable platform. Almost the opposite of the Mobile Battle Bunker to a point, in the urban setting. And it carries a lot of Cobra Troops on the pegs when you think about it. I put the figure hands on the roll bars.

Got an orginal Cobra Rage and a Cobra Fury. I really can imagine these road machines tearing up the motorways and freeways of major cities. Holding the populations hostage by attacking any emergency supply convoys coming in. Then pillaging the supplies. Which inturn they sell back to the local government or the people. For extortionate amounts or the locals can swear loyalty to Cobra. Then they can get all the supplies they need. Just got to help too to get those.

One cool thing about the Rage is that its crazy turret elevation would be decent in urban combat; that's often a limitation of real tanks' usefulness, e.g. in Grozny. Bobby Vala claimed Hasbro took the actual art and painted directly over it for re-release packaging. Supposedly this happened with the W.H.A.L.E.'s art so that if one owned the repaint box art they would technically own the original art as well. Kinda sad to think a big company wouldn't spring for all new art/materials like that!

Great video boys. I still have my OG 86 SCI FI intact. He wasn't a big fav of mine as it was a bit to bold. I image the sound of the laser would be like from the sniper rifle from the PS4 Star Wars Battlefield game. Where it builds up energy and then that pulse sound as you squeeze the trigger. I really enjoyed this video.
