Oh my gosh I didn’t really know that there was a hidden Puyo Puyo theme in the game.

It's interesting to note that Arle's special spell is actually a reverse spelling of Compile's Japanese pronounciation (ru-i-pa-n-ko instead of kon-pa-i-ru).

Hold up. Aren't Arle and Carbuncle the best of friends, especially during the early years of Puyo Puyo (as well as Madou Monogatari)?🤨

This is the story of a child getting drunk... There are reasons this game wasn't localized. This is one of them

man, these guys have been trying to localize Puyo for the last...32-some-odd years Can agree that "Puzlow Kids" does sound like a 90s localization name though.

This music was later remixed in RPG Maker 2000, as Dungeon 2. Because it's most likely the same composer.

It's in the opening demo of Mario's moves, but also the cutscenes show Mario able to do it, before you need to do it yourself. This game is one of the best examples of giving tutorials, without having to interrupt the gameplay to do so; it's all shown and not just told.

@@tamerkoh yeah I noticed that after every 4 levels, thought it was a really cool way to teach you what is coming up. Missed the barrel kick thing though.

I loved this game as a kid! Nintendo wouldn't be so happy to hear the Super Mario sound effects. I think later levels used some sound effects from Sonic as well iirc. I loved the cheesy midi music in this too. xD Someone used to have the music uploaded but I guess it was removed off KZbin... In the Millennium Gamepak version, the music would start skipping after you beat a level lol.
