I hope Spore is on this list. I personally didn’t grow up with Spore, only picking it up in 2022, because my parents thought it was rated M for some reason, but it quickly joined the ranks of Minecraft and Terraria in my favorite games. After modding Spore, I began to miss the classic music.

You should light up the grassy cave and make some kind of cottage there. Perhaps a evil witch resides there to keep in theme of the medieval buildings.

My first time playing Minecraft I ended up playing for like 6 hours straight 🥲 I made a little cube house with one layer of glass going fully around it so I knew where the outside was 😌 with a little farm and trap so animals to later forget about and ended the day with iron tools 😌

I think the scariest part of Minecraft is more of an existential terror, it's the realization that you're completely alone in single player. You can get your pets, the villagers, and all the mobs, but that'll never fill the void of missing players. It's terrifying when you realize that as long as you're in single player, you can build the most extravagant castles, the most impressive bases. And the most amazing temples and chrines, but it's all an attempt to fill the void of loneliness. It's the thought that, eventually, you will run out of ideas. You'll run out of mobs to kill. Run out of achievements to get. Run out of builds to make. Run out of things to farm. You'll run out of things to do and then, sitting in your massive cities and looking over your empire, you'll realize that you may be at the top, but it's easy to be number one when you're the only number.

I play the newer bedrock version on Xbox with my dad now and then. I can’t express how poorly designed the bedrock edition is for console, and especially new players, as the crafting menu gives no indication as to what should be done. Everything is just layed out in a grid. Some things are click to collect, others are click to select. There’s also a plethora of bedrock console exclusive bugs that’s been around for as long as the bedrock edition took over, and there’s no interest in fixing them.
@StuartisUnoriginal8 күн бұрын
Couldn’t agree with you more about the bedrock console bugs
@Wavei8 күн бұрын
@ they must not play test anything on console. There’s no reason for every other feature to not work as intended on one platform, while work just fine on pc and mobile.

This is an awesome video, Stuart. Coincidentally, I just started playing Minecraft with my girlfriend for her first real game and I similarly wanted to show her the old versions, around 1.2.5 or so on Java. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work on my hardware, but she enjoys the current version of bedrock just fine. Looking forward to checking out the rest of this series!

I love how new players (your girlfriend in this example) seemingly build in whatever way makes the most sense to them, they have no guide, no reference or comparison to go by, it's just the blocks and they're creativity at work. Nowadays when I play Minecraft I always think my builds have to be this detailed masterpiece with a conclusive look that'll exceed my expectations, when that's just not the case. Your girlfriend in a way knows how to play the game more than all of us, free form creativity is such a huge part of the gameplay and experience. Great video!
