I'm not a big dog fan however I do like these English Bull Terriers.

This concept of treats works with humans too...the process is just a bit more complicated due to the fact that are brains are a bit more advanced than a dog's. :-)

Great video. I've got an 8 year old bull terrier that I adopted from a rescue 3 months ago. Whenever I walk her and she sees other dogs she loses her mind. It's not agression, just over excitement but she barks and nips at the air in a way that means she can't really be socialised with other dogs. When she's like that she ignores all offers of food or other treats to modify her behaviour. Any tips on how to improve her interaction with other dogs?

I'll be getting my first BT in a month. I've only had a husky before him. Any tips?
@amandagrapne1295 жыл бұрын
So many! 😅 but I think the best one is to be preperd that a BT is not a dog. Its a speices of its own. The best you can do for your puppy is to get him used to alot of different environments and help him to calm down bcs he will not know how. They don't feel when they are tired, they just get more playful and crazy. Also, join a BT gruop on Facebook for more help 😊✌ good luck! They are awesome!

Hi. I am about to collect my new little friend in a couple of days. So looking forward to it. I found your method interesting. I will use this style. (How shocking some of the comments are below. I wonder if these people actually speak like that in public? Perhaps they need training?)

Clicker training and food training is bullshit. What happens when you don't have treats.... Consistency, praise, and other rewards are the way to do it!

I have a 9 week old English Bull Terrier. She keeps nipping.. Help!! Please, Thanks
@amandagrapne1296 жыл бұрын
Nipping as in biting? She will do that for Alot of different reasons, mainly becaous she is a pup ;) but i think you will notice that it can be really intense some times, then she is most likely tired but don't know it. My best tip for biting puppies is to have a lot of bones and chewing toys by your side. When the pup starts chewing on you, stick a bone in there :) think about it as a bottle for a tired babie. When tyra was a pup I had to hold her firmly in my arms and give her some thing to chew on, in a while she would calm down or fall a sleep. Remember that pups need to sleep Alot but they don't want too :) good luck!

I read one of the comments you said you train dogs for therapy dogs. What is a bull terrier good for? Because I want a bull terrier so bad but I also need a helper dog. Do you think the bull terrier is a good breed for that?
@mikaelafischer71487 жыл бұрын
I like how you tough her to go backwards. I might use that when I train dogs because I'm not too fond of how I was taught to do that command.

They have too much muscles in theire thighs too come all the way down. When a bull terrier sits down on its own and not on command they will lean over and sit on the side, on one hip or the other :)
