Our first sailboat was about the size your on and we had so much fun with it , 21 ft with two large teenagers and a 150 lb german shepard that loved boating. turned the kids into crew , sailed all over the British Columbia coast , what a great time , watching you was very nostalgic , wish we could do it all over, we are aging out of our larger boat and going back to smaller again , was more fun , beware of two foot itus all our best Steve

Greetings from South Africa. Last year i had my "selfie" (self inflicted) crash with my KLR 650 and was told to stop ridding. Because i didn't know what happened in the crash, I was also instructed 🙂 by my girlfriend to stop flying microlights. Well, I had to replace it with something, and I'm NOT talking about replacing my girlfriend, so, we are the new owners of a 29ft sailboat. All the best to you and enjoy.

Mate I hope you’re ok after the crash! I think sailing is a good home for us biking nutters… it can be exciting, peaceful, challenging… all the things riding (and microlighting I bet!) can be. Good luck to you on your new boat.

after several years motorcycle racing my wife suggested something a bit more family friendly, so we have been sailing for the last 40 yrs , and I love to sail it's as close to flying an airplane as you can get , also put up the main sail first.
@noughttonomad45613 ай бұрын
Motorcycles will always be my first love, but I enjoy the polar opposite of being propelled by wind alone. I’m (clearly) very early days in to my sailing life but it’s brilliant. And yes, raising the main with the wind at my back wasn’t the best idea 🤣 we live and learn. Thanks for taking the time to comment Steve.

Thank you for a great video. How is that mount working for you? Is it sturdy enough and is the screen a good improvement? I’m on an 800 as well and thinking of doing the same to mine as you did
@noughttonomad45612 жыл бұрын
Thanks Karsten! The mount and screen have been brilliant. No issues whatsoever. The screen definitely adds more wind protection at speed and is sturdy. I’ve ridden off-road with it on and not had any problems either. The mount has been fine, done it’s job leaves enough room for my old garmin. Not sure if newer models need more room though.

I'm 6ft6 and 18 stone with a tiger 800 xc. I've stiffened the suspension both ends, jacked up the rear 25mm and fitted riser bars. It's a brilliant bike, most comfortable I've owned

Bought the same centerstand for my tiger, not a lot of weight in it if l compare it with the heed centerstand. However its heavyer to get the bike up on the hepco stand, also its not as stable as heed. Looks good on the bike. Thanks for posting
@noughttonomad45613 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does need a bit of enthusiasm to get it on the stand! Feels solid enough though. Mostly use it just for lubing the chain etc, so not in constant use.

@noughttonomad45614 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike - absolutely. This was back in the summer of last year, so since then I've had a chance to give it some welly. Having owned a big GS and a 660 Tenere in the past, this has the most poke. The triple certainly has responsiveness. If you were coming off a sports bike you'd think it wasn't much, but it works for me!

Hey man, I think I finally settled in buying a Triumph street triple 675R but the one I was looking at got snapped up before I got back to the UK. The weight and 675cc engine size appeals to me as a newbie. But curious about the street twin, what the difference maybe, and why you chose that?
@Davehboi6 жыл бұрын
Nice vid BTW, good van bants!
@noughttonomad45616 жыл бұрын
Hello mate! It's all a question of preference. Style, purpose and basically what shivers your timbers. I want the Street Twin because of the retro styling but with modern engineering. The Speed Triple is a gorgeous looking bike though. It'll be more sporty and flickable around a bend; the twin is more torquey, so initial umph. It's a bigger cc engine at 900 I think, but I hear the twin is good for beginners. Having ridden it, it's very easy to ride. Slip assist clutch is great and light. So basically, both are awesome :) go with your first love man, gotta be the way!
