I'm shocked when I compare the techniques used by these American fire fighters and ours here in the uk. We almost always remote roof of the vehicle and extricate the victim up and backwards onto a spinal board to prevent as much as possible exacerbating spinal and neck injuries. This all looked like the way things were done in the 1970's.
