I keep being amazed by the lack of the smaller trombones in trombone choires. I see no alto, no soprano, no sopranino and no piccolo. Why is it still called a choir if a complete range of instruments is missing?

1.He said that sonata is dedicated to Schostakovich (his teacher). He wrote it within two stages - first part he wrote in 1957 (when entered conservatoire ) Then in 1995 he returned to the sonata , re-wrote the first part and wrote 2,3 and 4 parts ( which were conceived earlier) There’s a quote DSCH from Schostakovich The sonata is filled with great love for Schostakovich , he’s been thinking of him which love and admiration while composing this sonata. “Schostakovich is my idol and he still lives for me”

2.was he fond of jazz music? No he was never fond of jazz music. He just wanted to switch to a more light genre after the first thoughtful part. He says that he likes a definite genres like foxtrot, valse, march, tango; they make music more down to earth, which is good and which Schostakovich also liked.

3. Tischenko talks about his newer works “ my main task and pain now is Dante symphony series. I decided to write on the full Divine comedy that is inferno, purgatory and paradiso. Plus in the first symphony of the series I wanted to show the story of relations between Dante and Beatriche. The fourth symphoni is almost finished, then I must write the fifth one - paradiso. This will be the main greatest work of my life. ? - Do you perform as a pianist now? - Almost not at all. Last time I performed as a pianist last autumn on Schostakovich anniversary concert. I played quintet and Satire by Schostakovich and my own vocal series “the road” which is also dedicated to Schostakovich. Then I performed as a pianist in my own harp concerto. I don’t play much now because piano demands a lot of investments of time and effort, besides, I’m very busy with my Dante symphonies.

there is multiple. the double slide is unnecessary nowadays due to there being triggers

This specific version is a contrabass trombone in FF (same as an FF tuba), the one you are thinking of is a BBb (same as a BBb tuba)

Пёс на сугробе ... ... ... Мне улица - дом, что ломает и кормит, что старит мою чёрно-белость и мозг. За годы я понял, изведав все нормы, что самое страшное в жизни - мороз. Взирая на лампочки и батареи, на вкусности, сытость, довольность чужих, скулю у витрин магазинов-музеев, завидую кошкам в домах городских. Матёрые псы и их верные шавки сидят во дворах ресторанов, кафе, где повар огромный, котлетой почавкав, бросает объедки, остатки конфет. А я разукрашен горелою пылью, обут в снег, солёный песок или шлак, измучен совсем никудышною былью, истерзан нуждою в еде, как босяк. Щенячьи забавы, хозяйские руки, кусок, подаваемый прямо ко рту, квартирные, чистые, мягкие суки, как будто в другом, моём лучшем быту. Я мало погрелся у ног, на диване, не выудил случай поспать ещё час, намыться в уютной и тёпленькой ванне, не смог напитаться вперёд, про запас. Отвыкший от мяса, печенья и травки, но всё же смотрящий домашние сны. Я - пёс, тот, что кормится возле прилавков и ждёт с нетерпеньем прихода весны.
