Wonderful that you could get a BOD yarn box!! Thanks for sharing 😻 Was there more yarn than she had pictured on etsy, or was it a complete mystery box ??
@ChristinesCraftTable23 сағат бұрын
My pleasure! It was a complete mystery. There are some photos on her Etsy shop that others have posted, but they are only examples of what you might get. I posted a photo (or I will, if I forgot) there as well, but by definition, with a "mystery" box there's never a guarantee as to what you will get. That said, I think Crystal at BagODay has demonstrated she goes above and beyond to give you a great value for your money. 😊

Вязание, мелкая моторика рук - это очень полезное дело, она не даёт усыхать сознанию. Кисти рук напрямую связаны с речью, мышлением, памятью и воображением. 🚴
@ChristinesCraftTable4 күн бұрын
Translation: Knitting, fine motor skills of hands - this is a very useful thing, it does not allow the consciousness to dry up. Hands are directly connected with speech, thinking, memory and imagination. --- Response: Isn't it amazing how God designed us! So fascinating! That mind-hand connection reminds me of this verse in the Bible: Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think on these things." ... When our mind is dwelling on these things our hands produce beauty. ❤️...or as this popular saying goes, "Garbage in, garbage out!"

When your first row is single crochets worked onto a beginning chain, this gives the edge a nicer finish...helpful especially if you don't plan to add a border. I don't usually bother with it if I'm planning to add a border.

I have to be careful when buying hooks because l live in a very humid and hot place. I found that some of the handles have degraded and become sticky to hold. One set on which l spent a small fortune is so horrible I haven't used them for years. Your video is very interesting.
@ChristinesCraftTable4 күн бұрын
That is interesting. Good to know. Maybe you could cover those sticky handles with something. I've seen people do that for ergonomic reasons, I think one idea was even spearing a tennis ball onto a handle and they you'd hold on to the tennis ball while crocheting. I think another wrapped the handle with rubber bands until it felt more comfortable...

There are so many great KZbin videos on how to get started. Needless to say, I highly recommend it. Just pick up a skien of yarn and a hook. The yarn label always shows the hook size recommended for it. You can get started with less than $10. Maybe even closer to $5 with a value yarn.

A sweet reminder from John McArthur Jr. commenting on these verses: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you" (1 Pet. 1:3-4). Listen to the whole chapter, 1 Peter Chapter 1. It's beautiful. blb.sc/00Fqzp
