leather seems softer than the 2018s so it might wear in easier. I prefer the full grain leather on the 2018s fs tho. I'll pick these up to keep a pair of DS so when my 2018s fall apart I got these as a backup. I also like the elephant print better on the 2018s since they look better from a distance. The lighter pattern washes out further you get. To each their own tho
