I just lost my beautiful precious Rosie yesterday from liver cancer. She was on chemotherapy for 2 years and I am grateful for that extra time. then a separate cancer was in her liver. I am devastated and this is not the first time I have been thru this. Since 2010 this is now the 4th fur baby I have lost to cancer. Years back my animals lived to 16, 18 and 19 years old. Now it is a miracle if they make it to 12. Something is wrong. This shoukd not be happening. What is causing these precious animals to get sick ? I will spend whatever I have to for my babies to get whatever medical treatment they need even if it means eating beans for a year however some people dont have the same resources. Vets cost are ridiculous. Homeless animals everywhere. Stop the greed and help people to afford to adopt and treat their cats, dogs whatever. This is a sad situation. Teach your employees to be vet tech like they did 30byears ago instead of hiring people with vet tech degrees. They cost mote and make pricing increase. Have a clean quiet office it does not have to be the Taj Mahal. Seriously figure ghis out and stop the neglect of animal negigence for treatment

Hello, I want to share the story of our cat, Zilli, and her current situation with you. Perhaps among you, there are those who have gone through a similar experience or who can suggest an alternative treatment for us. Zilli is not just a cat to us; she is a crucial part of our lives, our co-pilot, our closest friend. We have always been side by side with her, and every moment with her is precious to us. However, this journey we are on has brought immense devastation to us. Zilli is a 10-year-old cat, weighing around 4 kilograms. After receiving a rabies vaccination on March 15, 2024, a lump appeared on the right side of her neck within about three weeks. When we went to the vet, we were told it was end-stage cancer, and since then, we have been fighting through a challenging process. The fact that this happened after the vaccination has deeply affected us, as we feel that we might be responsible for her condition. In trying to protect her by vaccinating her, we may have unknowingly put her health at risk. This thought weighs heavily on us and brings profound sorrow. Since that time, Zilli has undergone four surgeries. Each surgery was performed due to the recurrence of the tumor, with intervals between surgeries becoming shorter. Less than a month after her last surgery, we noticed five new lumps in the same area. Our vet mentioned that only one or two more surgeries might be possible, and beyond that, there is nothing more they can do. No alternative treatment, specialized diet, or any supportive supplement was suggested. Currently, Zilli is receiving only a painkiller, Contramal, and a stomach protector, Antepsin. Contramal is an analgesic used to reduce pain, and Antepsin is given to protect her stomach. These medications might not be available in other countries, but this is what our vet has recommended here. As for her diet, we mostly feed her Whiskas wet food, Royal Canin +7 dry food, some creams she likes, and occasionally lightly cooked meat. Unfortunately, we have not received any guidance on a natural diet or any diet that could slow down the cancer. Every time we ask, our vet tells us that the outcome will not change and only advises us to take care of her with love. However, we are determined to keep fighting for Zilli’s life. If any of you have been through a similar situation or can guide us with information, please reach out. We are open to learning about alternative treatments, herbal supports, or any methods that could strengthen her immunity. We won’t give up; we are ready to fight for her and do whatever it takes to help her regain her health. Thank you in advance to everyone who reads this and cares.

I just lost my 10 year old cat to pancreatic cancer yesterday😞. 2 days before I noticed she wasn’t eating and was in pain. I took her to the vet, gave her fluids, took some xrays & ultrasound. That’s when she was diagnosed, it was so aggressive that it spread to her small intenstine, lymph nodes and her liver. If only I had more time with her 😞 It was so quick, not even a week before she was her happy energetic self & just a few days later we lost her 😞

My sweet boy Sam had it in his intestines was a very large tumor. Surgery showed it around his intestines and into lymph nodes . The vet was very honest and told us it was best that he be put down while still under . He is so missed my funny lap cat 7 years wasn’t long enough

I arrived in a vets office and I said: my cat is checking all the symptoms for diabetes and I would like to run some labs on him, the vet laughed and said “you are not a doctor”. Turns out my cat had indeed diabetes. He putted him on vetinsulin while I told him cats usually take long lasting insulin. Changed vet, she insisted on vetinsulin for months till she finally agreed with me. Currently, people are more educated and have instantaneous access to information, be careful underestimating people, they might not have the general knowledge you have, but they might have done their homework.

The problem is that the average vet just isn’t all that good about diagnosing cancer unless it’s reached the point that it can’t be treated. We just lost our kitty two months after I identified he wasn’t feeling good and brought him to our vet. Based on the symptoms I saw I asked about cancer but after examining him and running tests the vet said it was just decreased liver function that could be easily treated with medication. Over the next month his activity decreased and he lost more weight. Not being able to get him into our vet right away I want to a different one that told me he was terminal and should be put to sleep immediately but wanted to run more tests that were inconclusive. Eventually we ended up at the ER vet where they too just wanted more tests until nearly two months after I identified this issue it was finally announced that it was cancer and that his intestines were breached. We lost him two days later before we could even arrange for euthanasia. This was very frustrating as if it had been ID’d immediately we could have at least made his final days better and at best may have been able to extend his life. Not that human doctors are better, I lost my mother to this same sort of incompetence in diagnosing cancer until it’s way past the time anything can be done.
