This is the best a most user friendly chronograph by far that I have ever owned. Great job Garmin!

Please add Average Power Factor as an option for the main display on the Garmin. It's frustrating to not have that displayed along with other averages when done a string.

My Magnetospeed has never missed a shot, BUT hanging off the barrel did not allow me to use it during competition or while sight-in to collect velocities. The Zero on the other hand is a home run… HOWEVER…… mine misses 10% of the shots (22LR to 7PRC) when used at our 100 m indoor range! I have videos to support my experience. Other Zero owners do not have the same outcome in the same environment? Despite the shortfall I use it every time I shoot from 1042 to 4100 fps and try to note the missed shots. Just saying……

I see no truths in the "less pressure required for 740-760 Rems" when it was also already chambered in 270. I've read some of the articles a certain writer wrote doing his best to downplay the 280 simply because the 270 was his baby.

Just picked one up to replace my pro chrono, had the chance to use the xero c1 before purchase as my brother works in a hunting store, wow- this product is the best thing out right now for measuring velocity and its stupid easy to use. Well done Garmin

Use mine every time at the range, its great. I only wish i could open an individual rifle file and keep adding to that rifles data without have into start a new session everytime.

One of the best things about the Garmin is the ease of setup adjacent to the firing position. Elimination of the need to align sky screens to the bullet flight path is a huge safety and convenience benefit.

Have a Labradar and my friend got the Garmin. What a leap forward, so tiny and does not miss a shot. Absolutely no setup. Incredible! But question how does it trigger?

I wanted the Garmin, but it's still new and the price is a little prohibitive. I just picked up my first ever "chrono" /velocity measuring device and it's the 1st Gen Lab Radar; quite simply because it was on sale at a $250 discount. Obviously they're going to phase out the Gen 1 because they have a small unit like the Garmin now also. I'm sure I'll end up with a Garmin one day when they're less expensive. Thanks again for another great topic on the podcast ‼️🤙😎

I’ve got a couple questions for the Garments n guys: 1) What max G’s is the G Zero rated to withstand? Can i attach it to Picatinny rail in my rifle w/o damaging the unit? 2) Professionally, i’ve seen the ionized gas ejected at shot exit interfere with Doppler return for the first few datapoints.. when does the G Zero pick up the bullet, and does it extrapolate back to the muzzle? 3) can data be exported for analysis in a spreadsheet? Thanks for a great interview!
@rickroberts218211 сағат бұрын
Data can be exported for use in a spreadsheet. Using the Garmin shotview app on my iPhone i was able to email the data to my iMac while at the shooting range.

He made a HUGE mistake when he did that demonstration. He should have put the cap back on the black powder before igniting it on the plate. I was messing around with the stuff as a kid and made that mistake outside. The uncovered powder was 2 ft away and one spark is all it took!

Enjoyed this but have seen a lot of rifles, mainly hunting rifles, that will prove time and time and time again that what you’ve dismissed here regarding seating depth to be absolutely not the case. And we’re not talking a handful of groups……we’re talking large amounts of groups tried over several years, so it’s not data to be dismissed because it’s ’not Significantly sized data’, and I’m absolutely not the only one to see the same. Thousands of shooters have found the same as me……a load can shoot absolutely horribly at 50 thou off and yet at 20 thou off be CONSISTENTLY 1/2 MOA. There’s more to it than just ‘pick a combo and if it don’t show what I wanna see, scrap the whole job and start again’. More has to be at play, different barrel profiles with all the differences in chamber tolerances seen across factory produced rifles. You speak about data being important, which of course it absolutely most definitely is, but by the very process of what you’ve compiled your findings on, it’s impossible to state some of this because you yourselves havnt compiled enough data with different rifles from all different types and price brackets…..I’m absolutely not saying your wrong, but for so so sooo many shooters out there using really great loads that would never have been found using your method, and they would have spent a fortune buying endless different powders and components hoping to land on ‘the one’. I would LOVE to see this episode all over again with some of the top class hunters that have developed loads for basic off the shelf or mildly improved guns, as well as the likes of Jack Neary and Eric Cortina. I think it would provide a more balanced evaluation of what can be achieved with methods across different platforms in our respective sports with the varying equipment we use

Nice Product, But How Do They Calibrate It For Accuracy? 🕵️♂️

Don't know how "they" did it but I tried it next to a number of other chronographs at the range and differences were a couple of ft/s and sometimes less.

Now make a two channel strain gauge reading device for reading chamber pressure and barrel time. It needs to work stand alone like the C1 (no app to operate, but with downloading after).
