An excellent video. Thank you. So much easier to get the buttons and buttonholes exactly where you want them without a fuss!

Love it! This is such a useful skill for creating knitted buttonholes, one of my least favorite things to do. Thank you for the tutorial.

Awesome! Particularly when you do not know it's boy or girl 🤔. I tried to secure with one thread only: going through one side of buttonhole and coming back from other. That way I have only one place for ends connection. Thank you so much!❤

I've just tried this on a toe-up sock that I decided I wanted to have a 2x1 rib. I'm determined to have my (2x1 rib) cake and eat it (with a stretchy bind off that looks good). This bind off hack definitely has the look, but sadly I don't think it has the stretch 😢I've just finished binding off as loosely as I could and it's really hard work to get the sock up over my heel. I think I'm going to have to resort to Jeny's extra stretchy bind off which does the stretchy job without looking quite as nice. Great effort on hacking the tubular bind off though, it looks great!

Thank you! I originally added snaps to a few projects and really don't like how that looks and thought I would just have to live with it.

I am making my first cardigan and missed the instruction to put the first buttonhole in the waistband. I can make this solution work. Thank you for sharing/teaching!

So glad I “met you” regarding your beautiful Concentric Circular Shawl on Ravelry! Looking forward to seeing all your posts! Thanks so much, this buttonhole is a real winner. I am about to do the edge on the “No. 4 Vest and may try this technique. 😊

Hello and thank you for sharing your technique 😀 Question however - With my buttons (23mm, cardigan for myself), I am trying your technique - Despite using more stitches, the buttonhole is too thigh. Any idea of what I do incorrectly? Thank you kindly 🧶

If you did not bind off your button band before making the buttonhole, couldn't you simply include that stitch from the hole in your final bind off? I think this buttonhole technique is genius!

This is genius! A cardigan I knit years ago needed an additional button, and the buttonole I made using this technique both looks and works a lot better than the buttonholes I originally made while knitting the button band. Thank you so much!
