Hi! I have a question I'm hoping to run by you. I'm a middle school PE teacher and just finished up my first full year. I was able to make some good connections with the kids(mostly surface level conversations) and really enjoyed my first year, but, I feel like I need to be doing so much more with the platform I've been given. I'm unsure how to truly impact these kids and make a lasting difference in their lives. I want to inspire them to grow and pass on wisdom to them in this short window of time that I get with them as their teacher. I wanted to reach out and ask if you have any resources on how I can better reach these kids or if you have any practical advice that comes to mind. Any bit helps, thanks for your time and for all you do! PS. I teach at a public school so I know I'm limited as far as sharing the gospel. I want to learn how I can share Jesus with these kids too, in a way that is respectful and appropriate, but this question is mostly focused on general life stuff. How can I help them become better people,etc.

Absolutely wonderful to listen to you both. Thank you so much, Dr Gary Oliver. I went through dark days where I lost 7 family members, had two back ops after a serious Nursing Injury. Everything you say I relate to. What depths you embrace and give us so beautifully and freely. God bless you abundantly. You are encouraging, inspiring and uplifting. You usher us into a realm of hope, glory, promises, and draw us close to Abba Father,Holy Spirit, Jesus. Promises and perspectives. So much. ❤️🤍🙏🏻

This episode spoke to my heart! It sounds like God has us on the same path to listen and follow His leading, no matter what the personal cost is. From getting rid of the physical 'stuff' to healing our hearts, He has a purpose for our lives. Thank you for sharing where you're at right now. Coming to a place of looking at today, one step at a time, not trying to 'figure it out' and following Him; that's what this is all about.❤

Was there a prayer guide rubric that you guys were talking about in the pod? For the type of prayers said before Shabbat dinner? Maybe there’s a link and I just didn’t find it in the comments! Thank you 🙏🏻 This message was very inspirational for me and I discussed it with my husband. Proverbs 16:9- The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Listening to Christi makes me laugh and I'm so thankful I'm not the only one who has made inner vows in ignorance! BUT GOD!!! I can just imagine His face when we say things that go against His will for us and how He laughs at us and says, "Just you wait!" I remember being that 25-year-old soon-to-be mom telling my husband I would never homeschool! I'm not one of those people 😳😆 My husband wanted that and I was absolutely against it. BUT GOD!!! Now, I'm starting my 22nd year of homeschooling and I'm so thankful and BLESSED to God for it! My husband died 5 years ago and our life has had so much transition since then. I now only have three kiddos left at home. God provided a way for us to continue walking in homeschool even after Jason went home. I also understand the pent up energy and having nowhere to go and the time of waiting. God's timing is perfect. It's quick and NOW! In January he sold our home one day and within 2 hours I was signed up for my Certified Christian Life Course. I had been impatiently waiting for 10 months to hear when He wanted me to start that. I received my official certification this last week and now I'm waiting to hear when he wants us to move to Florida. He told me in February 2022 that we would be moving there. I also said many moons ago that I would never, ever move to Florida. BUT GOD!!! I have found that when I finally surrendered everything to Him, that's when He moves. He's waiting on us to get to the place we need to be. I am so thankful for His faithfulness. I had all of the energy last fall and winter that you both speak about, feeling like you need to move and you're being held back. After the last 8 months, I'm in a time of calm and waiting. It's much needed because transition takes a lot of physical and mental strength. Thank you both for sharing your heart and being real!

What an encouragement this video was for me today. My family just made a “jump” and left our beautiful community to say yes to God and His calling 2 hrs away. It wasn’t easy but we knew we could trust our Lord. I was just telling a new friend, “when God calls you to something, He goes before you!” I believe that with everything I am and I have seen Him do things and prepare a way like only He can. May your family “jump” in full confidence knowing that He goes before you!!

It is not safe to tell people what is okay and / or what is not okay to do just because you do or do not do them…. Be sure to speak from experience prior/past/present/ and your GOD Willing future… ❤THE BIBLE is clear on The Sabbath… I work 7 days a week unfortunately like physical labor so I don’t want you to think I think I am better then you in any way…. Just a warning that when we teach we are harder judged…. ❤ Also, I am so happy young people are talking about The Sabbath and starting their journey(s) to follow The Commandments and walk like JESUS our LORD and SAVIOR.

I am kind of in shock after listening to part 1. So much makes sense now and I guess I'm not alone? I realize now that I am very much stuck in my sympathetic nervous system and I am greatly triggered on the daily by my kids. This is such a painful realization because I love them so much, but also relieving somehow at the same time. My question is this (and maybe it will be answered once I listen to part 2) but how did you overcome this mountain and homeschool your children? My kids are 1 and almost 3, so we aren't quite there yet, but I also want to homeschool. I am very afraid that I can't handle it with how much I'm struggling at home with them now. It makes me think that I may not be on the right path and that maybe they would be better served by going to school?
@FamousatHomepodcast Жыл бұрын
Goodness, this is all too real and appreciate your vulnerability. God gives us grace for the seasons we're in. Stay in this season and ease into homeschooling in the years ahead. We take schooling one year, one child at a time. If you get too far ahead, you'll worry yourself mad. Just focus on today with where they are and where you are now.

I love the encouragement to look for the blessing from our fathers. In counseling work I’ve done it’s so much of “what’s wrong” it was easy to lose what was good. I loved that chapter in the “Intentional Father” by Jon Tyson where you write a letter to your dad telling him everything he got right. I did that last year and gave it to my dad at Fathers. The process of writing it was so healing to me. Thanks for the encouragement in that same direction. :) And I love the idea that honor doesn’t traffic in denial. Great episode!

Start of the video, I want what my wife and myself to have the relationship you both have. My wife actually introduced me to your pod cast, but I do not think she watches it as much as I do. I try to improve our relationship by implementing what you both talk about but it has not really taken. I have started therapy because she believes I may have issues,and I'm sure she is right about a lot of things. She feels as if I am not in love with her which is far beyond the truth, I love her more today then when we first met. I tell her I appreciate her, that she is beautiful because she is! But I also feel as if she can sometimes project her insecurities on me even after being together for 13 years and married for almost 6 . We have 4 boys, lots of stressful moments.

I was really excited to see my two favorite newsletter writers on the same episode this week. Great interview. I’m really looking forward to getting into Jon’s forming men content. My story fees so similar of feeing like I really want to train my boys, but also feeing like it’s so far from what I got. I really loved his point about biblical lineages - how some people are the “son of…”, and others are “the father of…”. Gave me goose bumps. Thanks for coordinating and making the effort to talk and record it, both of you!
