NATO, hi 👋 Good evening to you 🌙to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. I noticed that from some Japanese bird enthusiasts, as well as Japanese bird photographers like you, that the Daurian Redstart is getting more and more frequent in Japan 🇯🇵 as these birds spend their winter in Korea 🇰🇷, Japan 🇯🇵, southeast coastal China 🇨🇳, and Taiwan 🇹🇼. Is it true ? I had not seen this bird in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 for the past eight 8️⃣ years !
WOW ! You get to see European Starlings in Japan 🇯🇵 ! Also, a HUGE THANK YOU 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏to include Latin Names of bird species in Japan 🇯🇵 🙏🙏🙏🙏

They come here as winter birds. I also did English and academic names, but the screen was cramped. We may need to think a little about how to do this.

As a friend, here is a gentle reminder : all the Japanese Wagtails, White Wagtails, and Pied Wagtails ALL BELONG to the ONE and the SAME bird as a single Species, and not sub-species of each other 😄😄😄😄😄

NATO, good afternoon to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Fortunately for the birds, they have feathers 🪶 to insulate their bodies. We don’t have feathers 😅😅😅so we need to wear plenty to keep warm during the winter 🥶 months. 😄😄😄😄😄
Hi, NATO. What do you think about the fact that several species of birds are clumped together as one single species…. ? For example : (1) the Japanese Wagtail, White Wagtail, and the Pied Wagtail; (2) the Japanese White-eye, Asian White-eye, Warbling White-eye, and Swinhoe’s White-eye; and (3) the Japanese Tit and the Cinerious Tit. I think it’s rather confusing 🫤 🤪…..any ideas ……. 💡?

When I too had English names in my videos, it was a mystery to me. Listed on the web and in illustrated books: ....... Various illustrated books may list them under different names. The best way to do this is to use academic names. Would you prefer a scientific name?

@ Hi, NATO. Both the English names of the birds and scientific/Latin names will be good 👍 just as well, if possible 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
NATO. Hi, greetings from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. I no longer see the Daurian Redstart anywhere anymore, except in your videos. I miss seeing this bird. The first time I saw it was more than 8 years ago ! Thank you so much for your valuable videos 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 The Shrike has a tendency to stab their prey (small rodents, insects, small birds, and worms 🪱 ) on a sharp spike on a tree branch or a man-made barb and impale it until ‘lunchtime’ ! Very cruel way of killing its prey, yah ? 😅😅

Can't we see them in Hong Kong? In the Japanese bird world, they are called winter idols. They seem to eat it during the breeding season. Studies have shown that eating it improves your singing voice and makes you more desirable to the opposite sex.🧐
