Well, Jim, if you're still around, since making this video maybe you've now learned how to use a hand-held drill with sanding disk attachment correctly. It's easy to avoid having the drill jump around if you slightly angle the drill butt end toward yourself and don't push down hard. It's great with a variable speed drill ... keep the speed down. Slowly move the drill in a direction along a radius, not a tangent, and you'll get the excellent intended results. A very useful tool for fast and focused sanding when you do it right.

Jim something is going wrong wrong. I made the jig ,cut the first side put a spacer in for the short side cut, and nothing lines up. What did I do wrong? Should I have reversed the set up with the cut chips up top before the cut for the short side? Somethings wrong and I've made a couple of short side cuts and I'm still not getting the line up to matching need enlightening. Thank you, Barry.

I make axles by cutting axles to length, slice a larger diameter dowel for the end cap and glue. Goes real quick.

Sorry, I would never recommend this. You can buy one from 25 to 150 bucks that are spring loaded and release and cut power to your tool or whatever instantly. They are for convenience and safety.

I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. kzbin.infoUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.

Would it seem a correct assumption that both sides might crack. Should a new cover be added to other side as well

Instead of drilling the hole to put pressure on the blocks, it would be easier and more convenient to Glue the blocks to s thin strip of Hard Board…one strip for 1/8”, another for 3/8” etc. This way, all ya need to do is place the strip with the size of Fingers you want onto the board..
