I went to see the mechanics. Because my ford expedition has an emissions leak, in the beginning the mechanical told me the problem but quickly changed his mind and told me to take my car to be checked by a vapor computer.but he forgot that the first thing he saw was the purge valve i saw his eye.before tried to make hard on me.now with the video i know my car problem

That one has a clip, so you can just push it down and pull it sideways. Try it

You'll have an engine check light. You probably will not feel the result, but it is not gas economical.

No. The EGR valve, Exhaust Gas Recirculation, comes from the exhaust manifolds into your intake manifold.

Good video. Might be aware the top hose seems to want to deteriorate and leak causing most of the problem. However while replacing the hose, ( very recomended) you might want to replace the valve as well.

@hubert-williams3379 auto parts will have it. It is fuel related, the one I got was not a special configuration but taken off a spool. Take the old one in for them to refer to.

@@donlute3444 I got it , someone here in this thread posted the name and it was spot on.. just ordered it from amazon.. I replaced this hose before on my 03 expedition so when they mentioned the name it all came back to me.. vapor purge valve hose

Those clips on the hose, you need to squeeze then push them back, then pull the hose.

The engine light warning on the dashboard will turn on and when I had it code checked it came out as purge valve defect. Had I taken it to a shop they probably would have told me other things so they can charge for more.

They quoted me $182 parts and labor for a 2007 Ford explorer. I watched this video and did it myself

Once you get the engine light warning about the purge valve you'll need to change it or your gas usage will be inefficient. The purge valve allows stored fuel vapors in the charcoal containment canister to be sent back into the engine to be burned when necessary.
