I love the fact that the guidance of grace guides godfrey to YOU. Grace guides tarnished towards adversity so that they can draw strength from the runes of their enemies. The grace of gold is basically telling godfrey in this moment that if he cannot overcome us, the player, then he is not fit to retake his place as elden lord. Godfrey, this man who conquered countless tribes, civilizations and even giants, must now fight against US, a tarnished of no renown, as his last test of strength before being deemed worthy I fucking love from software dude

Honestly if they took God Devouring Serpent and fully focused the fight about Rykard then he could of easily been the best boss, his first phase is what puts him down for me
