The way you handle this is let the puncher make a dex roll to pull their punch

normally i would agree but in this case the party has agreed in session 0 that there can be pvp and the adequate consequences (also because the player forgor I let it slide)

I played in a campaign of pathfinder 1e where we were all kineticists. First i was a hydrokinetic knight. He got finished off by a rock thrown by my terrakineticist ally. I came back as a wood kineticist, downed by a critical electric blast to my back then killed by a fire aura (both were from other teammates) that culminated in a TPK cause i was the only healer.

One of these days i will run a pathfinder game all of the classes subclasses and races sub races all seem so fun and interesting.
