It is sad to hear filipinos speaking english. For those who didnt know, english is spoken in Filipinas because the US ocuppied the country after killing about one million ppl, 10% of the current population, in the so called filipino genocide. Then, they settled corrupt puppet governments and forced ppl to learn their language.

when in to use po and opo: always use po to sound polite, like (have you eaten yet?) ( kumain kana "po" ba?) ( where are you going? ) ( saan ka pupunta "po"? ) "opo" use every time when saying yes there is no harm in showing to much respect in the Philippines. the more the better. in " mano po" use it to elder family members or someone in upper family hierarchy like uncle aunts and grandparents or even godparents. can also be applied to family of close friends, their uncle or parents or grandparents. i my self just "mano po" everyone in vicinity during parties.they either accept it or they say im not family or older member of society. again there's no such thing as showing too much respect.

Love your videos . Question or questions sir. What would you say has been your biggest challenge moving your Filipina wife to United States ? Is it her adjustment to the American culture? Is it her struggling with American English, slang and sarcasm? Is it the attention that she gets from other American men? Is it dealing with judgemental or racist people. Perhaps a financial adjustment for both of you? I only ask because it is my plan to bring my Filipina that I have known for almost 3 years to America and am curious as to your own experiences. Thank you sir.

The only real problem we had was that it took me a while to find employment after we moved here. My wife had already experienced working with Westerners and living away from the Philippines (Macau), so it wasn't a difficult adjustment for her. We haven't really encountered racism here.

I suggest that when your wife and son will have a trip and visit the Philippines, the have to use a U.S. passport to leave the country and then use the Philippine passport in getting in into the Philippines. When leaving the Philippines, use the Philippine passport, then use the American passport when getting in, into the U.S. Yes, you have to register your son in the Philippines to acquire his dual citizenship. It's good for him to get a dual citizenship because should he wants to go to college in the Philippines, he can use his dual citizenship for a free college tuition fee in public universities like University of the Philippines.

Filipinos are generally sensitive. But if they know that you're new there touring, they can easily shrug any negativity that you may unconsciously say or do. Usually, they welcome anyone that wanna have a good time there with open arms and even show you secret spots to have the full experience of vacationing. of course, if you happen to see a native chick (if you're a guy) and feel that you wanna pursue her, you better be serious coz you'll likely meet her whole clan there, who likely are observing customs (pagmamano, respect to elders and some pamahiin/superstitions/rituals, etc.), and from those what i mentioned, we will go again to my first statement - that Filipinos are generally sensitive (if you dismiss those customs to be unnecessary). But overtime, we (later generations) have developed to have a thick skin because of the internet (trashtalking in mmorpgs) or fliptop (you trashtalk the other person via rap and it's all alright if its over). so yeah. just observe courtesy there as if you're visiting any other countries and you'll be gold.

Be thankful, yes. I have another suggestion: tithe yourself. I choose 10%. Do not give it to the church or charities as they waste too much in salaries, overhead and fancy offices. Instead give directly to the poor. Cash, food, cloths, what ever they need. Mostly I give locally but also some internationally. 10% does not adversely affect my life but given the differences in economies it can be a major uplift for someone in poverty.

I have heard the same about the tourist visa and bringing your wife to USA 🇺🇸 is almost impossible. Over the past 7 years we have assets in PHL but I still think it’s subjective to the person doing the interview for my wife’s tourist visa. I agree that helping my wife get a USA Citizenship has advantages over not having this status. The other option we were considering is living in another country. I love USA and I’m a vet but I think Spain, NZ, UK and many of the other countries are very nice too. She would still have some hurdles to travel or stay in other countries but it’s possible and I know couples that have done that. Just a thought. Keep making videos please, you have great insight and I appreciate it.

Good points: there are definitely other options of places to live. My wife and I have thought about living overseas again some day (maybe another Asian country), but that would probably be at least a few years down the road. The nice thing about her having her US citizenship/passport is that we all have the same status as a family as far as where we could live. Thanks for watching!
@hardmtnbiker

@@ThePhilippinesAccordingtoKevin agreed a US Passport is less drama. Of course you need to pay and go through a long process to obtain . I’m not sure if we want to stay in USA 4-5 years for that. I’m at the point where I can almost retire and/or do most of my work remotely. I would like to adopt her 9 year old daughter and travel and perhaps send her to a private college in Europe.

I haven’t been back since 2019 and always fly direct to NAIA. We have been to the other airports as travel to the other islands.Anyway I definitely will be flying back, I’m vaxed and will test. I definitely agree it’s going to be much stricter and travel will be limited. I stay seaside in Iligan where my wife’s family lives. We are probably going to look at traveling to Thailand or Vietnam if traveling within PHL is too restricted. I just found your channel and website. Wow, 10 years and you also lived in PHL 11 years. I only stayed in PHL 1 year and traveled back and forth over the last 7 years. Been married 2 years but I haven’t brought my wife to USA. Anyway, your website and you work as a Pastor is very inspirational. I thank God for people like you helping mankind.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The same exact thing you talked about happened to me. But from the way everything sound, I knew it was too good to be true. It felt like a scam and then like you I thought, how could a Chinese tourist agency just go around the U.S. State Department and issue visas. I remembered that to get a tourist visa, the woman has to go to the U.S. Consulate to apply for one and do an interview. And then I thought how can that when she is in China at the moment. And then when I went to the website, and here is the real funny part..... The site has NOT been updated since 2016 and its January 2022 right now. BIG RED FLAG!!!! But thank you so much for this video brother.

The concept of blessing or asking for a blessing started to be incorporated into the act of "mano" when Filipinos became Catholic. The Mano gesture is traditionally a respectful greeting with a sign of respect for elders. The concept of giving or seeking blessings was only introduced to Filipinos from Christian/religious ideology. Either way, it's good to see that the tradition of mano or pagmamano is still alive and being revived. It was almost endangered when the beso-beso/kiss, hugs and shake hands became the preferred greetings of the westernized elite. But the western beso, hugs and shake hands are merely gesture of greetings without the concept of respect. So I'm glad that pagmamano still lives on.
