In the latter part of the 1990s there were proposals for the introduction of a 3 x weekly Boeing 747-400 route from Manchester to KL via Paris (instead of AMS or FRA which were also possibilities) as MAN-CDG-KUL (presumably as MH12) but instead opted to extend the Munich service to Manchester with a 777 in 1998 before going Nonstop and switching to the 744 making it the ONLY 747 service from Manchester to the Far East NONSTOP.

I flew on this particular A340 from Hong Kong to London. Beautiful aircraft ,but the seat pitch was bloody awful it was like sitting on a Clacton deckchair .

I'm surprised not to see more views and comments on your video Nick, this is very good quality stuff! Aside from the very steady camerawork, you've really captured this A330 in great detail. I love how at 1:21 you can see the cockpit crew very clearly silhouetted against the light and also you can see right through the cabin to the left side windows, that's cool! The way the dust gets blown off the runway as the airplane gets off the ground is cool too. The sound is great also, all that hissing followed by the spool up. The aviation geek in me is very satisfied! 😉👍

These A series are the biggest pieces of shit in the skies..they are noisy and torment communities around airports. Jetstar is the worst airline in the world according to consumer reviews.

It is a beautiful thing. But it was much nicer when he just had the two smoke generators on the wingtips ... the two thin lines making arcs and spirals was just fantastic. That big fat cloud coming from the tail reduces the effect.
