I did not see a firematic valve incase of fire it shuts the oil off. I did like his quarter turn shut off valves on the draw and return lines. I wouldn’t have deleted the tigar loop. Tigar loop has a better draw pressure and you eliminate the return line that can stir up crud off the bottom of the tank. Lowers viscosity of the oil and helps with algae on the bottom witch you do not want.

Roth tank is just an oversized milk bottle. Have you ever dropped a milk bottle leaving the store that usually doesn’t end pretty. You got to get rid of the power pipe, threader and use a manual if you want to get rid of those skinny arms and look more like me Arnold.💪

Does the fill pipe have the dip tube the one that goes 2/3 the way down the tank to help stop foaming
@tomcard8342 Жыл бұрын
This is not installed according to Roth instructions and does not meet the requirements of a Roth certified installation. Thus the 30 year warranty and $1,000,000 insurance liability is null and void. 1. Missing swing arm on fill pipe. 2. Fuel gauge cannot be located next to suction line. 3. Outside fill pipe must be 36” min from ground level. Note: Go back and fix all your installations that are done like this so customers will have valid warranty coverage. And go back and study the Roth instruction and certification manual. CUSTOMERS: call this installer back to fix your installations asap.

How did you get the copper pipe to sit up 1" off the bottom? I saw him pull it up and then leave it? How did it not just fall back down into the tank? Thanks!
@jonathandomanick14202 жыл бұрын
One of the worst fill pipe installations. You are not supposed to put torque on a pipe affixed to a polyethylene attachment. Get a vice grip and prefabricate it.
@johnspanos38622 жыл бұрын
I think it specifies in the manual to go 15LB of torque and that's it - so basically hand tight?

Is 1/2" line preferred to 3/8"? My tank is only 10' away, is 3/8" acceptable?
@jeffreyjohn20373 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can run 3/8" line up to 50 feet.

The roth tank label says not to pump oil from one tank to another. I found this out because i got a new tank and the guys didn't folow quute a few of the basic instructions that i read up on afterward because i am having issues. Im afraud to fill the warranty card because these guys probably werent Roth certified installers which means my warranty wont be discarded. Its sad that even after paying so much money, i should be the one doing all the research before i had someone "professionals" install it.

You forgot to use swing joints on vent and fill pipe

Looking at roth tanks myself and well, I don't think you're supposed to torque against the coupled tank fitting and it seems to be missing a swing joint. ...

always back up the fittings with a second pipe wrench. should have left the tiger loop.

Hi, i got a new roth tank recently and the oil company delivered oil. They said they could only fill 190 gallons and that the tank is now full. I know that i had 25 gallons in the tank because the installer pumped the oil from the old tank into the new one and it was about 25 gallons. So this means i have 215 gallons, which makes sense because the tank gauge says about 7/8th full. My question is why was the oil company not able to fill more. It is a 275 gallon tank. My old tank after being fueled up went all the way to full on the old gauge. Thank you.

@@boreduser12 about from 6" from the top of the tank the fill whistle stops and most all companies will not continue filling
@nunyabusiness5075Ай бұрын
@@boreduser12 But it's not really a 275 gallon tank, it's 1000 liters which is 264.17 gallons. Also, oil often foams in the tank when being filled so even if you're near empty you'll never fill more than 220 or so in a fill, at least that's what the oil delivery guy told me (btw this was with a traditional steel 275 gallon tank). I also ran out (over the summer, no big deal) and the refill was only 210 gallons.

Why didn’t you use the piping that Roth makes specifically for these tanks? They’re better.
@boreduser125 жыл бұрын
Next time (which will be never cause these tanks last long), i will contact roth and ask them to tell me about certified installers.
@Hubjeep4 жыл бұрын
I believe the special Roth piping is to connect multiple tanks together. Fill and vent are made by the installer since every install is slightly different.

impt notes add old oil from old tank to new tank probally voids warranty ,plus u transfers all the crap thats in old tank,and work the piping to the tank not from the tank as being plastic it might crack ,wouldnt take the chance
@kgreiner217 жыл бұрын
We use a pipe that is capped at the bottom and holes which are drilled 8" up, the sludge layer which sits on the bottom of the tank will never reach this height. Only clean oil was pumped into the tank which does not affect the warranty. Roth tanks are great for both inside and outside
@jeffreyjohn20376 жыл бұрын
