the triangulation in Aspire is terrible quality.. Even with increased resolution X50. Any ideas to fix this?
@DCDLaserCNC6 күн бұрын
@@giostourista I am using Aspire 9.5. I don't know if the newer versions produce better results or not. You could always fix up the 3D model in something like Meshmixer to fix it. The results I got straight out of Aspire 9.5 were pretty good for what I attempted.

That is awesome! The only thing I would add would be something that would hide the wires that go from one row to the next. Those loops look strange if you didn't know what they were. But overall, great build!!!!!!

Thank you! I had planned on having the wires under part of the frame but a miscalculation on my part left them exposed. I have thought about adding some trim to hide them.

What software can help me to manage different sites on items engraved per day on each site?
@DCDLaserCNC2 жыл бұрын
I am not exactly sure what you are asking. Are you wanting to automate a way of of pulling information from various sites and compiling that into say a database?
@DCDLaserCNC2 жыл бұрын
One thought would be to develop some software known as a "screen scraper". These basically go through site's web page and extract the data. That data could then be imported into a spreadsheet or database for compilation/aggregation of the data.

Someday, I'd love to see the edges of what the wood looks like and how to clean it up. For instance, finger joints, can two sides be made in one cut? I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could have some satisfactory answers.
@DCDLaserCNC2 жыл бұрын
Two sides can be technically done with a single cut due to the laser's very fine kerf of 0.02". However, if you want incredibly tight joints you should account for the kerf loss and go with two separate cuts. The edges of the wood have a burned/charred appearance to them. A little sanding cleans them up but technically adds to the "kerf loss" as well. Another thing to keep in mind is that the laser's beam is a very fine conical shape to it so that definitely can come into play with thicker materials. I hope that helps. Also, thank you for stopping by my channel and checking out my video.
@db52022 жыл бұрын
@@DCDLaserCNC Thank you for trying to answer my questions, you've done more to answer them than anyone thus far and I appreciate it. May I ask you how much of a conical is made when cutting 1/2" hardwood plywood? If the kerf begins at the top at the .02, how wide should I expect the bottom to be?
@DCDLaserCNC2 жыл бұрын
@@db5202 Hello DB, technically the conical shape comes to a point and then spreads back out. You can actually adjust your focus to be in the middle of the of the thickness of the material. So for example in 1/2" material, you could set the focal point to be 1/4" below the surface. This should help alleviate some of the very slight angle of the laser beam coming to a focal point. Keep in mind, the thickness of the beam is really small. For acurracy in woodworking this is pretty negligible. Now for extremely high precision in say in metal work where a joint has to be incredibly precise, this definitely would come into play. I hope that helps.
