You wouldn’t hear about KodachiOS as it fairly new. To shy away from something new is anti tech. Elon isn’t known for making cars now he is. Do we know who made Bitcoin for real and yet it pretty popular now and I don’t think satisfied is known for creating bitcoin before bitcoin. Check the code. That’s our job in the community. When new tech comes out do not be afraid to look at it. Always check the code and see what’s under the hood before making a decision. Popular isn’t always the answer. I’ve been using KodachiOS for years greyhatting because my job and have had no problems bc I checked the code years ago when I first come across it.

The only way to really avoid oncall in tech is by being a contractor. Nobody wants to pay for those extra hours.

@@MereAYT That's a good point and that is partly how I ended my days of being on call. I am purely contracting these days. Maybe I should make a video about that. There are significant tax and other advantages too.

I'm curious about that Nooelec device.... how does it work with only one antenna? You should have two to get both frequencies. But I've seen it as part of other builds as well.
@tracyrreed2 жыл бұрын
It is only receiving 978Mhz which is all you need for most GA traffic and TIS-B/FIS-B. This was a very early Stratux. This video is almost 7 years old now. The Stratux I currently fly with his two antennas, one for 978 and one for 1090.

Hi Tracy, I'm flying a 1959 Cessna 175 that I purchased in January 2016. The engine is a GO-300 with 165 TSMOH, and the aircraft has 2550 TT. The early Cessna's with the O-300 and the GO-300 have a unique sound to them that always catches my attention when I hear one. Fly safe, and thank you for taking the time to reply to my post!

i obtained a Uniden: BC340CRS and beginners pile of charts & books • seems I heard commercial reporting minus 50° Centigrade which is central to what I am doing right this moment ○ density & temperature calculated into local-barometric which has raised question in my mind-that an anemometer utilized as altimeter for some air-vehicles has an on-the-dial conversion vernier for «pressure-altitude» / «density-altitude» / temperature ▬ this i take to be several things and can just stare at an E6B / E4B until i see what they are doing but down with the puddle-jumpers if Mike Charlie in his Lear makes this adjustment to his altimeter this makes or it would seem makes his indicated altitude differ from my 172 which will be trying to get out of his way if GRK calls him while I am doing my 1-st attempt at Category II Instrument Landing System with an ex-military CFI as PM: Experience has shown one of these will take the controls and I want to know if Mike Charlie will have his set with corrections for Pressure / Density using the «altimeter vernier» which of course will be flat-panel LCD done with «steam-punk» gauges relegated to history studies • this may sound obtuse but I am still in beginner-fumbles and need to arrive at capability of presenting fully worked out & complete IFR workup ( flight-plan ) to CFI for under 200 NM anticipated pleasure-flying with me in the front-seat and my associate in the back seat restrained with lion-proof Kevlar netting. Sounds facetious but you have not met my associate-hence the reason for the detailed question.

+Tracy Reed Thank you for the reply. I'm very glad to hear it. Do you have any idea if there is an AHRS option when it comes to home builds. I am so ready to pull the trigger on this, I just want to make sure that I move forward with all options. Don't want to build something and it not be compatible with flyQ and its options.
@tracyrreed9 жыл бұрын
+MARC JOHNSON Sorry for the delay, didn't catch this reply before. AHRS is being worked on. I actually have the RY835AI chip needed to do it but the software is proving tricky. It has been worked on (part time, by various people) for at least 6 months and isn't ready for production yet. Especially if people think they might trust their lives to it in an emergency backup AI scenario. Keep an eye on reddit.com/r/stratux for status on AHRS functionality.

Is it also doing your GPS or is that the iPad GPS?
@tracyrreed9 жыл бұрын

What battery are you running?
@tracyrreed9 жыл бұрын
Jay Martin That is an Anker "2nd Gen Astro E7" battery. A big sucker but it will power the Stratux for a demonstrated 10 hours. I like Anker stuff. Brownouts have been a big problem with Stratux so make sure you use a quality battery (like Anker or equivalent) and a quality but short USB cable. Otherwise the voltage drop from a cheap battery or long cable will cause brownouts for the Pi which has been an issue for some people including myself when I first tried to run it with the first USB cable I found which was a cheap 3' cable.
