I have no idea what DP stands for so...I'm starting with hello! From Coimbra, Portugal. My name is Luís and I have to say, your two choices of veneus/trails were without a doubt spot on! I loved watching your video captions, those trails looked like something like I'd really love to ride in either of my enduro bikes. They were not Whistler Bike Park...Or Leogang, Austria...(but those are two absolute mecas of mtb in North America and Europe) but I thought they were pretty engaging and not immenselly difficult. Unfortunatelly I was born in a country, Portugal, that has immense capabilities of having fabulous bike parks in various different regions of the country but...there is no entrepeneurism...No forward thinking. And because of it, a country that could be an mtb heaven has pretty little to show for. Except Madeira Island which is literally one of the best MTB destinations in the world, right now. I have 3 bikes and I'm slowly gathering everything to build the fourth and last one. I have a Rockrider hardtail with a rockshox sid ultimate 120mm fork, 10,55kgs, built for training pace and ride marathon style "outings", a Specialized Stumpjumper Evo 160/150mm, an absolute perfect bike and a Propain Tyee CF 180/160mm wich I literally have ridden for 3 mins only. And because I live in Portugal I'm building, very slowly, a Specialized Epic 8 120/120mm simply because that's the best(or one of the best) "all rounder" mtb's that was ever made and can do pretty much anything within reason. And because I'm a 45 year old doctor who would really love to have a rear suspension in the Rockrider. Hence, the Epic 8! I liked what I saw, liked your riding, subscribed your channel and gave it a thumbs up! Trully hope to hear from you and see more content. Be well and good ridings!

I thought as much. But still can't figure out what on earth they could stand for...Lol! I rediscovered Mtb after too many years of doing nothing for myself. And then immediately fell in love with the pleasure of riding. Actually it's more than that. It's the pleasure of creating a beautifull, usefull thing using my knowledge and taste, within my budget. I bought my Rockrider hardtail for 1550€. Then spend 1700€ getting her to where I wanted and thought I needed. It's the only bike I have that doesn't have german Newmen wheels. It has french Mavics. And Sram G2 RSC brakes. I soon discovered there is no substitute for good brakes and good braking!! After that extensive update, every single component that made my Stumpy and my Propain Tyee was chosen and bought by me!!! To the smallest detail like...saddle post clamps! My only sadness is living in a country that could be so much more...Madeira island is 1h35mins by plane but...that means bike friendly hotels, travelling with thousands of €€€'s worth of bikes and, no friendly mechanic that you trust and know. For example, my carbon Stumpy Evo frame isn't on sale anymore, ever! I'de be heartbroken if anything happened to that frame! It's the same frame that Charles Murray competed with in the Enduro World Cup until recently when they debuted the new Stumpjumper 15. Wich is ugly...Has less rear travel...And can only be assembled with AXS electronic transmissions(very expensive!!). My stumpy is beautiful! And I make a point of pride that all my bikes have mechanical transmissions from Sram. The sound of a rear derailleur snapping 5 cogs upwards, without hesitation is, for me, part of mountain biking. The Propain is a much more difficult bike. Took an immense effort to get all the parts bought and linned up for the assembling of the bike. Internal cable routing that ends/exits in a proprietary headset from Acros, a german company, and a stem from Sixpack in only two lenght choices was, is and will be a monumental headache!!! However big the hype that brand is gaining all over the world, let me tell you, it's very good material, but very hard to deal with. To finish this tail of small portuguese endeavour into mtb let me just tell you DP, I'de give "my left nut" to have a bike Park resort, just like you showed in your caption, within continental Portugal. My "left nut", my friend... Cheers from Coimbra, Portugal! Ohh...and thank you so much for writing back! Really apreciated it! Good ridings!!!
