If someone is wondering why he promoted to a bishop instead of a queen, it is because if he did, it would be a draw due to the black king having no legal moves.

@AadiCooksStuff you have another pawn to promote. you force the black king out of the corner and promote to a queen even if you have to sacrifice your bishop

@@pranjalsaxena4455 The black king is not in check but has nowhere else to move, so it is a draw, which is not ideal for white since white is in a winning position. (this would be the case if he had chosen to promoted to a queen)

It wasn't because of the opponent. In fact, it's because magnus didn't moved his pawn 2 squares, he moved it 1, making it a stalemate

It loses the game because king takes b4 and king b5 on the next move cannot be stopped, c5 is coming, pawns will be traded on c5, blacks king is busy defending the pawn and since the white king is already on c5 it can not eat all the pawns
