The Cenotaph holds a special place in my heart. Following my college years, I relocated to Chennai in 2000 as bachelor took up residence in Kotturpuram. My workplace was situated in the Guna complex at Teynampet, and I made it a routine to walk to the office every day. My route involved crossing the Adyar River and then taking Cenotaph Road to reach Teynampet. I opened my first bank account at the ICICI bank, [account details redacted]. There was a Dhaba nearby that offered a buffet for just 51 rupees. On my walk back home, it was common to spot Goundamani out for his evening stroll. Happy to see both ICICI bank and Dhaba still there.
