@@zacherywilkinson5558 the blades are from home Depot and they are for thick metal. 1/8" Aeb-l cuts ok, but other stainless steels tend to harden when they get hot, so I gotta use an angle grinder for those.

hello. awesome vid. was thinking of planning a fish trip out that was this year. was wondering where the best access points are that have trails and allow you to get to different spots.
@ianbyron7464 Жыл бұрын
I usually stay at Bowman's Bridge campground, but I go elsewhere to fish. It depends if you go earlier in the run, you might want to try fishing at Indian bridge. I never go to Gleason's landing; I sometimes go to sulak if I'm up there later in the run like end of Sept or beginning of October.

Such a fun video to watch. I wonder though, at 25:44, instead of a bottle, would it prove to be easier for you to use a guitar bottleneck slide? Slips right on the finger and would prob be easier to hold/control?
@ianbyron7464 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't know; a guitar neck might work. I need to get an actual burnishing tool one of these days.
@scotcherton Жыл бұрын
@@ianbyron7464 oh no, i mean a glass slide, they call them bottleneck slides because typically would be cut from the neck of a bottle. Of course, now that I think about it, it would not make sense to buy a slide if you can easily use an empty bottle that you already own for free.

I doubt it. After you dye the leather with an alcohol based dye, it will dry the leather out. You'll need to apply an oil before sealing the leather whit a cote.

maybe 20-30 years if cared for, but it's leather mate, it isn't forever
@marcodellacqua156 ай бұрын
@@escapetherace1943 I have a leather jacket that is 30 years old and in perfect conditions, and I've worn it a lot, let it rain or snow, just taken basic care of it. A cheap knife in a leather sheath I bought about 40 years ago is still perfect. That too saw a lot of use, and basic care. A friend has a sabre which is 170 years old. Leather grip still perfect. I have one, same model and period, grip wasted by dry rot due to improper storage. A Full grain leather sheath, well cared for, will last generations. Just store it in a place that is cool and not too dry (to avoid dry rot) and not too wet (to avoid mold). Let it dry slowly in a dry, cool place if it gets wet, then use a good, natural leather care product to condition it again. I'm not saying modern, synthetic products are not good. Maybe they are, may be they are even better, but having been around for less than 20 years these haven't been through all the use natural products have been and have still to prove themselves. I would try them on inexpensive leather manufacts, nothing historical or heritage-grade, that's it.
