Is the meat still good while they are this far upriver, or in this case up creek? This reminds me of Minter Creek here in WA state where folks are literally sight fishing. A creek that is a maximum of 2ft deep and with schools of holding salmon during low tide. Cast a jig in front of the salmon hoping it hooks onto its mouth and not elsewhere on its body.
@Goldenoutdoors12 ай бұрын
No once they aren't shinny the meat is pretty nasty.
@gagevanhoose12072 ай бұрын
I only keep them the frist 3 weeks of the run I’ve gotten dark ones with red meat still thay get dark fast but after 2 or 3 weeks I wouldn’t eat them
@chriskumar42012 ай бұрын
my experience is, once they discolour and not just darken, then the fish is near death. I have seen dark salmon which were shiny and dark, but not discloured. The meat was no different then a silver salmon. However this salmon was not weak, fought till the end and was not sluggish. The fish in this video are tired, usually a fish that bites is not one that is dying immediately. The condition of the fish on the outer epidermis will answer your queston about being edible. As for fishing the way they do in minter creek, that is not fishing. Fishing is trying to entice the fish to strike your bait. The art of presentation.
@b-rice47112 ай бұрын
you say no snagging, while prodceding to floss them in 3 feet of water
@Goldenoutdoors12 ай бұрын
Well, I'm actually bottom bouncing. Also below the tree where I am casting is closer to 6 feet deep where it then comes up onto a sand bar. Notice how close my weight is to my bait. I appreciate your concern for the fish. But we have bigger problems than legal fishermen on the creeks with all the folks coming out with nets and spears.

Hey there. I’ve been keeping an eye on your channel, and I really like the content you’re creating. I noticed, though, that with 278 subscribers, your channel isn’t growing as fast as it could be. There’s so much potential here, and I’d love to help you increase your reach, engagement, and ultimately, monetization. I specialize in KZbin channel analysis and growth strategies. Along with my dedicated automation team, I can help identify the areas that need improvement and craft a plan to elevate your channel to new heights. I’m excited about the possibility of working together. If this interests you, I’d love to discuss how we can make it happen. I can provide you with evidence of previous work
