I hate to say this Peter, but new information is now coming suggesting that JT McCormick is an alleged fraudster. His mismanagement has brought Scribe Media to a near collapse. Tucker Max's Scribe Media Collapse article explains it all. Be very careful of who you follow!

4:20 Trust = Confidence (Character + Competence). Well said! 12:20 Trust moves from the INSIDE OUT. Starts with ourselves, self-trust - and then ripples outward. It's hard to have trust with other people if you don't trust in yourself. It's hard to have trust on a team if there's not trust in relationships. 23:55 The higher self trust you have, the more credible you are, the more courage that gives you to be open, vulnerable, and transparent. The more clout, influence and permission it gives you. The more clarity and integrity you have, that gives you more COURAGE to be vulnerable and to be open, because you know who you are. 26:20 Essence of message is that trust is created from the inside out. That requires our CREDIBILITY and our BEHAVIOR. 27:55 The reason it takes courage to have integrity is because it's relatively easy to have integrity / to do the right thing when there's not a cost or a consequence to it. The test of integrity is when there's a cost or a consequence. That takes courage - that courage creates integrity, clarity, power - and that power then becomes a foundation of credibility and self-trust that extends and ripples out to create all other kinds of self-trust. 29:30 The very *first job of a leader* is to inspire trust (do that through credibility and who we are), the *second job of a leader* is to extend trust (through behavior).

Group think, including only some acceptable political ideas, have inundated the corporate world I left. Lobbying was more important that innovation. Assertions overruled the empirical. The ideas of dead Frenchmen were imposed on my Hindu and Muslim coworkers. Yet no one seems to understand the causes of the Great Resignation.

It only takes 1% of the population to change the reality we all experience. Step away from the manipulative domination of worldliness. Realizing we are all One. Recognizing our strengths and weaknesses and being comfortable enough with who we are created to be is a reflection back to Oneness. Retaining the wonder of a child. And love as God loves.

Hello Mr. Bregman. I got to know you 11 years ago through your book on time management and read many of your articles as well. It’s great to see you keep making positive impact to people and the world. I’m glad I revisited your contents. I’m a programmer and not a consultant at all but I enjoy your contents. I will look forward to more. Have a great day!

I really like the discussion on confidence vs humility. Personally I like to ask a lot of questions - and it naturally leads to a display of humility. While it helps me - I have found that sometimes this approach confounds people - unless it is balanced with some self assurance and confidence - it can have some negative net effects in terms of impression management. I guess that is where psychological safety comes in. A team norm is needed around this.

Why is psychological safety important? Perhaps a better opening question would be What is a psychological safety? Amy answered it in another interview - a climate. In my experience it wraps up many other concepts, like: business literacy, confidence, passion, ambition, competence, expertise, clarity, resilience, engagement, respect, trust, truth, community, identity, cooperation, mental health and so on. However, we need to see those concepts as valuable. If we do not see or experience those concepts we need to be active in removing constraints that prevent them from emerging. What would be the opposite? I could list familiar business feelings like: conflicts, overburden, dysfunctional environments, blame, isolated jobs, doubts, various forms of aggression and so on. The Capability Immaturity Model (as an extension to Capability Maturity Model) could provide more information about this. In summary, it would be going in the wrong direction. Another paradigm changing question would be: What causes those? Simon Wardley's Strategy Cycle shows a model of five elements: Purpose, Landscape, Climate, Doctrine, and Leadership. I believe that would provide a more complete overall context. If we ever get lost or too excited, the final test/question to ask is: Are we making this world a better place for all?
