You need to get the Jumper King my friend so you don’t have to go up and down the roof to get the thermostat on a call. Rodger’s Supply has them for less than $71 12/19/24

Hello, I know this video is a bit older but I’m having issues with my Honeywell HZ322 zone board. Would you happen to know what it means when “Zone 1 and Zone 2” are illuminated red but Zone 3 is green but then all of a sudden they are all green? And a short while later Zone 1 and Zone 2 go red again. I’m also having issues with my very top floor blowing air like crazy when the thermostat isn’t even on. I have three floors. The top floor will blow air if my middle or first floor thermostats are on. I think this is something to do with the control board being all messed up or the dampers. My compressor was recently changed. I have an electric furnace and a heat pump outdoor system.

Great video. The only thing I would add is when tightening the inlet side of the gas valve I noticed you used the " square" part of the valve to tighten. Always try to use a nipple in that part of the valve because you could possibly distort the threads. Keep up the good work!

I’ve seen a large amount of these failing. Usually you can rap it sharply with a screwdriver handle and it will work again. Problem is it might work normally for a year or a week. The replacements are no better. Just junk valves.

I usually like to plug my gas valve into a contactor to know for sure that the board is working right (i've had my meter read 28 volts but it was phantom voltage) i guess theres no way to do that with these plugs? 🤔
@ServiceTechSonny16 күн бұрын
That a good one Tony! Yea with the 2 stage you can run 24 to the valve but you gotta make sure it makes good contact on the valve . On a single stage valve it’s super easy to bypass and run C and R to the valve to test with some wires and spade connectors 😎
@AndresH9216 күн бұрын
Why are you wearing a respirator? I've seen other people use them. Should I be wearing one in the attic?
@Jason-wc3fh16 күн бұрын
Yes. Particularly if the insulation is visible and the fibers are being disturbed by your movement when working in there.

Not bad at all! I’m in NorCal where abt 75% of the units are horizontal in the attics unfortunately
@repairitdontwreckit425716 күн бұрын
@@ServiceTechSonny I am in Arizona. Our air handler is in the attic also and in the horizontal position. However, I did create an area where you had some space to work and access to the unit comfortably . I’ve watched a few videos where it’s an absolute nightmare trying to get into a comfortable position to do some work. I don’t know why when our house was built a proper access to the unit was not created. Did the builders think these things would never break? I guess I should have said your space to work on the unit was better than many others I have seen on utube. As a viewer of the video and not being there I’m at disadvantage. At any rate it was a great video showing your organized method of diagnostics.
@ServiceTechSonny16 күн бұрын
@ it amazes me how little planning goes into the space around the units so be serviced. You’re right it’s like the designer or builder thinks we can set em and forget em 😂 that’s good planning on your part to make that space available! I appreciate your feedback , thanks a lot!! 👊🏽😎

I have an oddity. Miller M7 furnace. There is a cover that goes over the burner/manifold assembly. When the cover is in place and the t-stat calls for heat, one burner will light and then go out. If I remover the cover and the t-stat calls for heat, all three burners operate correctly and I can then replace the cover and it will continue to operate. I am wondering if I have a partial blockage at the intake on the roof??

I wish all crawl space that have had that fluffy insulation installed had that kind of guard and a nice little pathway, kind of a nice place to actually kind of work, so I don't have to drag everything out to the Van. What fun it is. Drag a big blower out

So am I understanding this correctly? when unit received signal for cooling, something intermittently shorted in the board causing high limit to close telling the inducer to come on? I’m assuming the high limit is supposed to be open when signal is not being sent for heat, correct? Or am I way off?

Why replace all the piping? Why not just buy a new solenoid and replace old piping? Saves you time measuring cutting and threading new pipe?
@ServiceTechSonny29 күн бұрын
Sorry if the video looked a little rushed due to it being a “short” . The only part which was replaced was the valve the existing manifold was reused and it all fit back together just right! No pipe work was done. The other manifold was from a different unit I harvested from after it died. Thanks for watchin!!

@ServiceTechSonny2 ай бұрын
Yep thankfully I’ve seen some newer models with a fix using a better zip tie method 😂🤙🏽
@Chris-o3m5g2 ай бұрын
Yup, I just had my first 24v issue last week. Used a resettable fuse, turned off the AC but left the fan on, tripped the fuse.. went and removed all the CU 24v and the blower ran like a champ. So I looked at the 24v line and it was wrapped around the suction line and I almost missed it but found the vibration shorted it out. I've also seen fan motor wiring ran poorly and rubbed against the suction going directly into compressor.. once that happened it started arching, eventually it melted a hole and left the landlord with a big bill.. People gotta do better with wire management
@ServiceTechSonny2 ай бұрын
