When I was growing up, Japanese cards were high quality. ebay used to be sketchy so having foreign cards was unique in its own way. These days the quality is becoming on par, the japanese sets feature the same art as english sets (in most cases now) & the silver borders, plus genuine quality wise. its just easier for me to buy local. Jap cards still hit nicely in the collection but not as much as they used to in the early 2000s

I actually own 4 of these Picollo, ss3 Goku, Majin Buu Gohan fused which came with a clear ghost figure and a Gogeta figure, I like them but she hair on Goku isn't yellow, it's more of a tan dark gold colour if that makes sense... just wanted to know if they are worth anything really

Sorry if you said so already, but have you completed your collection? Other than the topps card Im personally collecting all chimchar, monferno and infernape cards because infernape is my favourite pokemon so I like seeing these types of collections

I think 99% of those warehouse/storage sheds/units have all been discovered since 2016-now. There might be a teeny tiny % still undescovered, but thats basically it. I think all of the streaming services will be eating up most of these boxes in the next 5-10 years. I am willing to bet that by 2030 these Base set unlimited booster boxes will be worth $50k-$100k each!

its not only super overprinted, but you can pull full master sets of wotc cards with just a handful of booster boxes. so less of it was ripped. After your kid already had all of his decks and a few charizards, they just didnt buy anymore. Compare how hard it was to pull like a full power 9 set in MTG or multiplepower 9 cards. There is a reason why gold stars and tournament specific cards and 1st edition base set are the grails. Everyone has a base set charizard. The fact that PSA pop controls psa 10 base set is the only reason why these booster boxes have this insane value. Otherwise it would be more like 3k for a booster set base box and psa 10 charizards would be like 4k.

Actually no one going wanna buy a sealed box if it has a hole on the sealed, that’s where they will low ball you cause for collector that’s a red flag where they will think was the box resealed.

Warehouses may have auctioned them.

I believe those streaming vintage esp whatnot are mostly resealed or repacked 😂 if you have data on supply on those 1999 base set, jungle, fossil pls do share

With how many of them that got opened up between 2020 and today that made a massive dent in the supply of these boxes. 20 years from now when it's almost impossible to find them anymore people that held out through the hype are gonna be rewarded. (or people that find a hidden/forgotten stash of them)

So I'm wondering how many of these KZbin creators don't use fake or repro boxes in their displays. Opening products I'll attribute to its popularity in 99 people hoarded them thinking they would hold value.

I imagine pokemon tcg was very cheap in the beginning. It was a tall task entering the Western market competing against MTG. Pokemon games were a one and done cost for fans. Parents were already paying for cable to watch the show.
