Hello, nice video. It's a good explanation of F48V4 and receivers. I am new to Pixel light show and trying to set up my first Christmas lightshow for 2025. I am now lost between F48V4 and F16V5. Could you please advise which controller to chose from? Many KZbin lightshow channels mostly explain F16V3 or V4, but not many explanations on F48V series... I want to start small with one 6ft tree and 4 or 5 props with singing elements and later expand. I want to add whole house roof lights later. Thank you.

Thank you for the comparison. I am starting into Pixel light show, trying to set up a small light show to begin with a small tree and a few props (5) and later expand the next year. Which controller would you recommend. I was wondering if it is possible for you to list out the items needed for a lightshow. I could glean these so far. 1. WS2811 12 V RGB lights, 2. Falcon F16V4 controller, 3. 110 V to 12 V 360W power supply, 4. Junction box 5. Pigtail Xconnect connectors, 6. Extension wire, 7. Raspberry Pi, 8. FM transmitter, 9. Props. Do I need receivers? Thank you in advance.

I like your videos, but this one is kind of pointless. From my experience 12V seeds are fairly bulletproof, I have tested both 12V 3 Wire and 4 Wire and miswired them in every possible way without damaging them. I am not so sure this is the case for 5V Pixels. I would of liked to see you connect them both ways to show what happens and also with 5 volt pixels and even some smoke. Surely the point of this video would be to show how to figure out which is the correct way around by using a MM with causing any damage. I think the main take a way, is alway cut a couple off and test and don't risk destroying a string.

What do you have the SRX1 attached to on the power supply?

Thank you for the video. It makes understanding the SmartReceivers more. One question I have though is the number of pixels a channel can manager in the 6 SmartReceiver configuration? Not that I will be driving the limit, just trying to plan my controller layout for the new first year of props.

Are there out of the box sequences for these props to project those effect samples you demonstrated or do you have to create them yourselves?

Glad to see you got something set up. I was struggling to find the time to work on new sequences myself. Then i thought well heck I've changed my sequences a little every year to make them better. It doesn't need to be perfect the second i light it up. So I've been working on a new sequence and hope to upload to my controller later tonight. That's the thing with light displays we never stop adjusting.

Thank you for sharing your awesome exterior illumination with us! This movie is a family favorite, we are definitely the Griswolds! My dad (who passed away in August) was legendary with Christmas lights - always picked the coldest day to put them up, and had to make multiple trips to the hardware store to buy more. My husband very much took up the mantle, he had a whole strand that didn’t work, and chose a cold day to put everything up!
