Just blow out the stress, the bubbles go up.. up is where you want to go. Song is about releasing your stress and returning to the surface when you're down.

WOWW! Fun fact--WA1A Miami used to play Jimmy's songs in the 1980's. also Love -94 FM. In Key Largo, in the mangroves to get decent FM above ground, we put up sticks on top of tiki huts, mangroves to get Line-of-sight FM reception from Miami.. At home, I ran a small wire up my grandfather's TV antenna..12-gauge?? 12-ft above sea level-then a 30-ft TV antenna. Hello!!!! WSHE in FT. Lauderdale in PURE STEREO!! WSHE 103.5 was always tough except at home, so we got by with Zeta-4 and Y100, and lived with it. I put makeshifts antennas all over North Key Largo to plug-in to get some altitude.

It's strange. Many years ago, (early 1980's) after I figured out that Jimmy Buffett provided the soundtrack for my life, I assumed that, like so many performers, his star would fade and I would have the opportunity to hear him perform in a small, intimate venue with just a guitar and no accompaniment. No crowds. No hoopla. Just the music, the lyrics and the author. Of course, the opposite happened. As the Buffett train roared into ever increasing fame, I never got that chance. A decade later I had the opportunity to meet him at a performance in Detroit while shooting a story about the amazing Jim and Peter Mayer, but I turned it down. I wanted to give Jimmy Buffett the gift of not having to meet one more fan. Probably selfish on my part. Regardless, I continued to be blessed by Jimmy Buffet's music throughout the years. The wonderfully strange part happened when his daughter Delaney decided to record this series of intimate interviews and solo performances during the COVID-19 episode. This was the fulfillment of my fantasy: to sit and listed to Jimmy Buffett talk about his songs and and then play them on the guitar. What a gift! Perhaps, fantasies don't fade. They occasionally come true. Thanks Delaney.

I know that this doesn't matter and no one will read this that knows my family. But this has always been a special song for me. Like Jimmy, I had a Grandad who I spent as much time as I could with on the water or riding in his old pickup. My Grandad, Dick Paschall, was a dairy farmer by trade, but a sailor at heart. We had a place on Buggs Island Lake in VA and he built a pontoon out of 4 old aircraft fuel tanks and random bits of metal, including one garden gate and a Johnson-rude 65hp motor. The line in the song about sailing back on Barkentines, I always sing as sailing back in Parker's cove. The song is just perfect for the relationship that only a kid and his gruff old grandad can have. He sailed on before my son was born. But my boy still hears stories of his great grandpa "Daddy Dick" who was always a bit grumpy, loved the water, and could build anything he put his mind to. I hope Jimmy knows that there are many of us that are so grateful to him for writing the soundtrack to our lives.

Glad I can still come to this channel and listen to Jimmy's stories and songs. Life just doesn't seem as lighthearted without him, he brought so much joy to so many. I was just becoming a teenager and going to the beach for the first time the summer Margaritaville came out. The radio station seemed to play it nearly every hour, LOL!! It not only created a love in my heart for beach music and Jimmy but a forever bond with the beach. It's my happy place, my relaxation place, my source of inspiration! Thanks Jimmy, you are so missed!!!

I'm walking with a friend through something Horrible, and She doesn't deserve to have to deal with it all! This friend of mine has been a HERO to me! And watching her go through this, IS SICKENING! IT LITERALLY MAKES ME SICK! IT MAKES ME ANGRY! I want to see her through this! I LOVE this song!
