In case we only plan to make 1 season, what would recommend for the “possible episodes” section?
@PiixelatteАй бұрын
If your story is going to be more of a “limited series”, an overall season summary should suffice!

Tysm! I'm going to create an indie series, it's colorful, adventures and cute, but it will have violence and very scary monsters, etc. What audience of series do I give it?
@PiixelatteАй бұрын
Hey there! That honestly depends on what kind of content will be included in your show. The level of violence (gore vs no blood being shown), certain themes (drug usage, nudity, foul language, etc) can all dictate what audience your show is meant for. The themes I just mentioned might be geared towards PG-13 to MA, but if it’s not intense violence and there’s no swearing or adult content, it could be TV-Y7-FV (FV-fantasy violence). Here’s a guide I’ve used for reference in my video! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TV_Parental_Guidelines Hope this helps! 🙌🏼✨

In the pitch bible, should I not include supporting characters that appear in later seasons and only supporting cast that debut in Season 1? The pitch bibles I’ve read through only include Season 1 stuff so I’m not sure. :o
@Piixelatte2 ай бұрын
Definitely keep your focus on your main cast that show up early on in your story. Further storylines & supporting characters will be explored later on in the development process, depending on how long the show runs for 🙌🏽

I discovered this sort of writing hack. Describe this character from the perspective of how others see them, rather than how you, as the creator, see them. Since brevity is king in a pitch bible this trick puts together the dynamics part and the way the character will act in the show most of the time. I hope I am correct

Im currently in my senior year of high school and looking into colleges (community included) and I was wondering if you have any tips on cold emailing? I want to ask college students about their experience but im incredibly shy and don’t know where to start 😅😅
@Piixelatte4 ай бұрын
Hey there! I think as long as you have a polite and genuine approach, I’m so sure college students would be happy to answer your questions! Don’t let your shyness psych you out from doing so 🙂↔️ Just start with a brief intro of yourself, go ahead and ask your questions, then end with a “I really appreciate your time, and look forward to hearing back from you!” The worst they can do is not respond (which that’s ok! It’s nothing personal, just happens sometimes) but you won’t know until you try :) Best of luck! 🙌🏼

man, i was really hoping that this video would have more tangible moves to undertake. we always hear "know what your story and characters are" from every direction regarding every creative project, but I wanna know how to potentially organize all this knowledge i have swirling around in my head and written in a dozen discombobulated forms. i figured this was some sort of, like, idk a style of zine made for pitching creative ideas. but even looking up zines, people love to leave videos about creative stuff so open-ended. and i get why, but it starts to be frustrating hearing the same broad points being made with no action steps being given by anyone :/
@Piixelatte6 ай бұрын
Hi! I’m trying to understand where you’re coming from; if you’re looking for /specific/ advice on EXACTLY how to organize your thoughts, I’m afraid you’re not going to find that answer from someone else. Every creative brain ticks differently, and what might work for someone else may not be the best solution for you! I can’t tell you what action to take, I only wish to share what I know. If by “tangible moves” you mean selling the pitch somewhere, that’s where it becomes outside my expertise. This video is meant to help the viewer /conceptualize/ a pitch, not sell it. I personally haven’t gotten that far myself, so I can’t speak on something I haven’t done. I still wish you the best on your creative endeavors and that you’re able to discover a method of brainstorming that helps clear the fog! 🙌🏼

I remember the first time I got laid off, pretty much a similar situation, my first job in the field as a junior web designer ... It happens, let yourself feel the disappointment, and it will pass. Life is all about uncertainty, you never know what's behind the next corner, so don't sweat it. Being in the creative industry it's not as easy as trying to get a "normal" job as a doctor, lawyer ... etc. Don't be ashamed we all are in the same boat. I hope this helps you.

but how are characters animated? like which software do they use to make an animated cartoon, like Adventure Time?
@Piixelatte9 ай бұрын
There’s a variety of different software used for animation depending on the style! I don’t know what specific software was used on Adventure Time, but Toon Boom Harmony is the most commonly used in the industry. I’m pretty sure the bulk of animation was done overseas though (Korea).

And as i expected everything is greatly and very explained except " BEATS " i'm starting to think that this is some secret type of sh*t cause nobody seem to be able to explain it in simple term and or people are just using the word without explaining it 😫😫😫 Alright that being said the structure and content of this video is absolutely 🔥👊
@Piixelatte11 ай бұрын
Oh! Well to put it simply, "beats" are referred to as a "shift in the narrative". So this can be a defining moment for a character such as an emotional turn, a reaction, discovery, etc. It's important that these beats add something to the scene to keep the story moving forward, or give audiences new information. Scenes contain several beats. When it comes to the term "beat" in script form, it's seen as a pause. I hope that clarifies things! Thank you for watching 🔥

Have you tried getting into promotions or advertising? I'm sure they have a need for animators.
@Piixelatte Жыл бұрын
That's not the field I want to be in 😅 Advertising is a completely different world/industry than animation. I'm more interested in storytelling and developing series/films, while advertising leans more into motion graphics/graphic design & selling a consumer product. I'm also not an "animator"! I consider myself more of an illustrator. I draw, but don't full-on animate lol (I have so much respect for animators & board artists! It's a huge commitment/discipline!)

That wasn't my experience 😅I wasn't necessarily treated poorly, but the way things panned out is unfortunate. The industry is in a rough patch right now for alot of reasons, but I hope that doesn't deter people from trying to pursue animation, even if going the independent route.

I feel we're now leaning more and more to indie studios on KZbin, with its ease of accessibility, so that will be an interesting venue to see you delve into.
