I’m gonna be Honest. But I hate the UC Gundam Timeline. Mostly because it’s poorly Executed! Both by Sunrise and Tomino! Tomino being the one that causes just as much conflict in the writer’s room and the creation process! And this is especially True with how he tends to write female Characters! Or tries to resolve stories with Female characters! Now Don’t get me wrong, the original Gundam was a Dark/War-themed series that voiced how war can affect and even damage people’s lives! He had some pretty interesting and competent Story moments! But he Could barely write women for Shit. Sala, was the only female character with a Competent Story Arc, but like most of the Female Cast, it was often tied to their Male Counterpart, their Paramour! But Sala was tied with her brother Char. But other female Cast members who were Part of the Zion forces ended up as useless or Dead due to their Spouse Dying! Save for Lalah! Who died trying to Save both Amuro and Char. Other Gundam Shows do better with the Romance department due to being away from Tomino! Has his writing has degraded years after Gundam.

I actually remember hearing about an update adding survivor mission and alternate versions of the costumes, but I guess I completely forgot when you made that community post. (Btw, how'd you figure it out?) As for what these colors are referencing, the Blue Zero looks to be the alt color from MVC3 Fate of Two Worlds that was based on X but was cut in Ultimate MVC3 and was swapped out for the First Armor based color with more white and blue hair, and oof course the X alternate costume that was released as DLC. And Bass seems to be either one of the weapon pallets from Mega Man and Bass, (I don't remember if there was a weapon that gave you that color) or more likely, the upgraded form of Bass .EXE, Bass XX from the Battle Network series. ("FORTE DOUBLE EXSSU!!")

I think it's most probably a Japanese culture thing. Way back from the 60s, conservative Japanese society think of women as _fickle, indecisive_ , and "the only place for women is the home", and this stigma is still in effect in the 90s among conservative Japanese. Nina is most probably patterned from this stigma.

I always just assumed that that particular reference to Mega Man was the devs having a little thought experiment that, "if someone actually made a live action Mega Man movie, they would probably redesign him to make him look like this." The other Mega Man (and general Capcom) references are accurate to their source material because their source material is what they're referencing, whereas "Mega Man 2" is an in-universe movie based on Mega Man (with in-universe branded movie-tie in merch like that action figure).

It's just a joke at how movie adaptations of video game characters are always redesigned, especially back in the mid 2000's. It wasn't supposed to be game accurate.

I kind of took it like how they where doing Super Hero movies around that time, IE how the X-Men movies took forever to wear their source accurate costumes & we're only now getting Wolverine in his yellow costume. Personally, I love how they made the Mega Man cameo's look in the first game as an homage to the old American box arts. As for why the other games did more accurate stuff, maybe it's because in-universe a sort of Super Sentai/Power Rangers kinda thing happened where the American adaptation got so different from the original Japanese IP that it just became its own thing, still owned by the people who own the original IP, so now "Rockman" and "Mega Man" are two different series's in-universe. Considering the whole "Ratman" thing in the series, (It's basically a parody of American superheroes like Batman) has a decent amount of its own lore and even an officially licensed comic book that came out when DR had its own comic series, it wouldn't surprise me if something like that was the case.

I definitely think Dead Rising's Cameo is a jab to Western Reimagining. It also might be the case that the wanted Dead Rising to stand by itself as a New IP and not have direct Cameos at first, as Dead Rising was much less family friendly than Megaman. When Dead Rising 2 was made, something was definitely lost in transition between the teams.
