Released on Glenn Danzig’s Plan 9 Records. I wonder if this track influenced Sloppy Seconds at all? Sounds just like them.

his Hidden Talent videos are fantastic. raw and for someone who struggled with addiction hits that nerve I often wonder how big Cranford Nix would have gotten had he lived

How badly did RCA Records fuck up with this guy? Let's count the ways. First, they didn't like his band. They insisted on using LA studio musicians who knew little and cared less about his music instead of the guys he'd been playing with for years. Second, they didn't like any of the songs he'd already written, so they brought in a bunch of hack studio writers to "polish them up." This in spite of the fact that he regularly played two hour shows to sold out crowds in Philly, and he'd already written one of the biggest hits of the '80s (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun). Third, they didn't like the sound. Synth-pop was in, so the organ and guitar had to go in favor of layers of synths. With all this, why'd they bother to sign him to begin with to what was then a massive contract? Oh, yeah, because his EP sold over 100,000 copies in one city (Philadelphia), but they got rid of everything that sold it.

I saw him perform 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," at the East Side Club, in the 80's. Saw the band in other locales. Was friends with Rob, the bassist for a short time. Nice guy. Great band. . .fond memories. . .his guitar player became a doctor. . .met him at the Bijou club. . .very disappointed the band didn't make it bigger. . .but a great Philly band!

Not good. Sounds like he learned it five minutes before he sang it. Lyrics are all over the place and the melody bears very little resemblance to the original. Dreary. Jonesy, what were you thinking man?

Here I am again, headphones in hearing your beautiful voice in my head. Crying as usual. Damn I miss you. I can close my eyes and picture your face singing, with those sexy sultry eyes. It never ends, the pain of losing you like I did. I never imagined spending the rest of my life without you since I spent over half of it with you. Days go by so fast but they all feel like an eternity without the love of my life or my best friend. The only one who ever really knew me and loved me unconditionally despite my flaws. I'm sorry I was so hard on you at times, you had so many amazing qualities that I loved about you, but you had one flaw and that is why you aren't here today. I miss you Steve. The kids miss you. I can only dream what our lives would be like if you were still here. That was the last thing we ever talked about. I know we would be together, that I know for sure. Until we meet again 💋 xoxo your baby ❤️
