Never heard this recording. It’s kinda rare besides the album. One of the songs I’ve learned all the way through in my 14 years of “playing” hoping to relearn it soon as I’m being gifted an upright. My first piano with actual strings. Sweet Jesus. I hope it’s pleasantly out of tune.

I think this recording is the first to represent the time he figured out how to write a great song. He was around 16-17 years old when this was recorded. That alone deserves a breath to remember yourself at that age and reflect if you could have ever done anything this impressive. I only discovered his music shortly after his death, and I'm almost 40 years old. He was most likely one of the greatest songwriters in modern history, and I don't know how many people will ultimately remember that.
