For sure get a complete thyroid panel done so you know where all of your thyroid hormones are at, and I would also recommend testing for nutrient deficiencies and gut health as well, and work on fixing those. And of course some patients need to add T3 (liothyronine) to their thyroid medication regimen in order to feel better.

Yes Sleep is important for testosterone production but the real cause of low testosterone is Nutrient deficiency first and obesity
@DrEmilyParke
@DrEmilyParke 3 ай бұрын
All of those causes are super important! I will say though from my clinical experience it is very common for males with unexplained low testosterone (meaning they are not obese and do not have the typical nutrient deficiencies or any other explainable reason) to have undiagnosed sleep apnea, and their T does improve some when it is treated.
@DrEmilyParke
@DrEmilyParke 2 ай бұрын
@Fitness250 I am sorry to hear that! It sounds like you would benefit from talking to your doctor about finding the root causes of your low testosterone. Basic testing for at least vitamin d and zinc deficiency, and also an evaluation to make sure sleep apnea is not the cause as well. There can be other causes for it, but these are common. 👍

Girlie, look, I know you mean well, but if I was able to keep up with meditating, a sleep routine, a workout routine and a good diet, then I wouldn't need ADHD meds. The daily stress, the exhaustion, and the tears that my unmedicated ass causes for myself is FAR worse for my heart than the medication.
@hibiscuspetals02

Fr, this woman seems to think you can cure ADHD by eating healthy and sleeping, which is not how you treat a literal chemical imbalance in your brain
@DrEmilyParke
@DrEmilyParke 3 ай бұрын
Yep I get it! Those are all parts of a regimen--there are MANY other things that can be incorporated slowly over time--and also it does not have to be meditation specifically--it can be another form of relaxation like deep breathing, or vagal nerve stimulation etc... The idea is to pick one thing and start there so it's not overwhelming:)
@DrEmilyParke
@DrEmilyParke 3 ай бұрын
@@hibiscuspetals02 if you listened to the video what I actually say is there are things you can try to incorporate before trying medication--I did not claim that any of the advice "cures" anything. However, I can say from treating many patients with ADHD that lifestyle changes make a huge difference in quality of life and can decrease the dependance on medication.

Hi there, doc. Usually doctors would recommend full thyroid removal for hyperthyroidism that is caused by Graves. Will that make the Trab/tsi undetectable?

A lot of times if it is not severe they will start with medications that control it, in hopes of avoiding an ablation. But, yes the antibodies can persist.
