@@charithavani2783 There are usually fluctuations in sales daily, weekly, monthly. A cumulative sum helps us understand how the sales have accumulated over a period be it days or a set period of days or weeks instead of simply observing the total sales that happened in a month or quarter or year. This way business can get a better sense of the numbers! Hope that helps 😊

Without Variable also it will give same result.... The only difference is that max is calculated on current context (i.e it will give you the same row on which you are running)

Nice approach using Excel to explain it. However, I don't think there is a context transition in your example. Context transition occurs when the row context is "transitioned" into the filter context. In your example, you only have row context. This is my understanding. Thanks for the video anyway.

What is on-premise in this context : Power BI gateway is a component that connects Power BI desktop and Power BI service, allowing access to on-premise data within secured networks.

On Premise can be your Local Laptop in this case. For example you create a report, you will store it in your Hard drive, this is what we call On Prem

In Power BI desktop in the data pane , I had the date column which was initially in text data type, but I successfully changed it to date data type. But still in Power query when I'm changing to date data type it is showing error in some rows.

Is the Error showing up for all dates, or is it for only some of the dates? Did you first change the data type in Power Query or in Data Pane? Ideally you would make all the changes with regards to formatting the data type within Power Query, Close and Apply and then use them in Visuals! I hope this gives you some direction 😊

@@LearnDAX Initially I was making changes in power query only regarding the date data type ,but it was showing an error in some rows. Then I converted the text data type into date data type in the data pane. to

@@LearnDAX It is showing errors for some of the dates in Power Query. And the dates present in date column is in this format - 26-10-2023. Initially I changed the date data type in Power Query only. However since it was showing an error, I changed date data type in the Data Pane.

When I asked this to chatgpt it answered - COUNT function counts the number of numeric values in a column. It ignores non-numeric values, including blanks and text. Does COUNT function excludes string or text data type?

The way I would try to understand is by creating a column which contains 5 numerical values, 5 text/string values and 5 blank values and use the Count function on this column, and the Output will give me an exact answer as to which values are considered or ignored by the Count function! Well, my earlier reply was just a way to start exploring the function, we should also refer to DAX documentation on Microsoft website, and then play around by changing the inputs to the function, this is how I also keep learning! learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/count-function-dax Hope this helps you to find the answer and get confident in exploring functions by Trial and Error 😊
