I’ve spent thousands but I’m blessed that I don’t care. I love their products and I have two customers, my sister and me. My craft room is my happy place. I gift all my cards away. I am not exaggerating, I’ve gifted 3,000 cards and I have well over 1,000 more waiting to be gifted. I’m retired and a homebody. It’s all about their coordinating products.

You're welcome. I actually threw away my first set because I became so frustrated. I eventually bought the second set and on a hunch, tried opening it in the opposite direction (since nothing else had worked), and bingo! That was it. It's so weird that it opens in the opposite direction.

Why would you get rid of stamps that are retiring. You can still use them with other papers, etc.?

Hi Susan. I saw a few card's that you made my mother-in- law, Rose. I noticed that you are a stampin up demonstrator. Thank you for sending them to her. This is the first time watching your video. I love the birdhouse card.

Thank you so much for reaching out to me. As you may know, we papercrafters love making cards and love sharing them with others. I am also happy to hear you love the birdhouse card. Thank you again and all the best.

Heidi just told me today that you are her sister in law! What a coincidence. I am so sorry to hear that Rose passed away. Heidi told me that you both sat vigil with Rose. When she passed, I'm sure her spirit kissed you both before she went to heaven. What a lovely lady. By the way, if you are ever interested in attending an in-person cardmaking class, let me know. The ladies who come to my class have such fun. Classes are held in Peabody.

Thank you so much! I was so afraid I would break them!! My father taught me lefty loosey, righty tighty. I also thought they were going to be useless and so glad someone else had the same problem and actually posted a video, so THANK YOU!!
@susanmolloy76059 ай бұрын
I'm so happy I could help Renee. I threw away my first set because I assumed they were defective. I spent a lot of time trying to open them in the standard way we have all learned but to no avail. So, I literally THREW them in the trash in frustration. Then sometime later, I bought them again and gave it another try and randomly tried to open them the opposite way, and it worked! So weird. So I wanted to share it with others.

Your words resonate with me and I too am a crafting addict! I just joined StampinUp as a Demonstrator and have spent several hundred already on my credit card. Thank you for this video as it is a reality check to slow down a bit here. it's truly an addiction and I am here with you.

Congratulations on becoming a Stampin’ Up demonstrator! And yes, there are so many wonderful products rolled out all the time, it’s hard to resist. But it’s important to find a way to pace yourself. I tell myself not to buy too much at once because there is no way I can use it all at the same time. I won’t lie though. It’s tempting 😊

Thanks so much for sharing! ❤ I can totally identify with you and we (my sisters and I) call it retail therapy. Sometimes I know exactly what I’m doing, other times I go into a flurry of buying stuff (usually crafts online) and can’t remember what I bought. I know I do it when I have a lot of stress in my life but that’s no excuse, because it might just cause further stress down the road when I realize I could’ve saved some money. When a friend was unexpectedly terminated from his high level job. He started shopping at Goodwill for bargains twice a day like it was his new job. He would brag about all the bargains he got, what they were worth, and how much he saved. I warned him he’d go broke saving money. Sure enough, he spent his entire severance on collectables that have no value unless he sells them. He’s doesnt sell things online or otherwise. I convinced him to return some of the items e.g. a big old creepy wicker baby carriage from the turn of the century. It had a black covering-yikes! Anyway, I have stopped buying things just because they’re a great bargain. For 2024, I’m going to try not to buy any new crafts in 2024. And that’s a promise!
@susanmolloy76059 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for reaching out. It is true, as you say, that we can get carried away buying crafts, or actually anything. In the past, I also engaged in retail therapy as a way to alleviate stress, but it only created a second problem (debt). I have since adopted a better strategy of limiting both my crafting purchases as well as purchases in general. I write down what I want and then wait a couple of days. By then, I sometimes just decide not to buy it at all. That's a win for me. I'm sorry to hear about your friend that spent all of his severance on unnecessary things. People often believe they need to purchase something because they will 'save' a lot. But in fact, they haven't saved anything. They have spent money, and that kind of spending will, over time, dwindle a person's precious resources. You gave him good advice to return what he can, and then sell what he can, even at a loss. All the best to you in 2024.

It took me a bit of time searching the catalog to figure out it was a carousel die that makes the roof. It. goes to show how we can mix & match sets.

I have some retired products listed in my retired products store on my website: www.silverladystamping.com. Hover over the “shop” at the top of the website and you will see retired products in the drop down menu. There are limited products though - for now. After the new year, I will be posting additional products. I must haven’t had time right now. But lots more will be added. So keep checking.
