Alright Mr armchair tactician. This was litterally the first time practising these drills which is why there is an instructor there... That's why everyone got up and back into the heli, which also obviously wouldn't make much sense if you were getting dropped off in a DZ.

The faster you land and pick up the next load, get that up and out and repeat, the more money the dropzone, pilot, tandems can make, providing there are jumpers available. When an turbine engine is running, time is money.

Whats the rules in the UK? You were flying in IMC for a while. Is parachuting not VFR. Can you fly in IMC conditions legally?
@daveslow849 жыл бұрын
Stephen McDonnell The pilot is fully instrument qualified (commercial pilot!), parachuting/skydiving itself does not follow the same rules as flying. We can for example jump when fully overcast, skill and experience permitting. Over a designated DZ a special rule for other traffic will however be in place. On an airmap it will be marked as a danger area with hights, frequencies in use etc...
@gautierfernandez1335 жыл бұрын
@@daveslow84 ... no offense but the pilot being IFR Rated does not allow to fly IMC during skydiving operations. Skydiving operations are conducter under VFR rules. No SID/STAR are followed by they pilot, and no flight plan is filed so... Also, skydivers are "supposed to see the ground" before exiting the airplane.
@cloudchaser92875 жыл бұрын
I honestly have no idea, I am just a passenger in that case! I didn't get a ticket for the lift but instead just rode along in the cockpit for a change...

VFR pilots often enter cloud,mostly broken though.In heavy overcast it's not advisable to enter or climb above cloud as the rules state that in VFR flight the ground must be visible at all times.

congratlation ! Stange but I never thought that Mrs. Gravity was so fierce! This error is due to my poor experience with only the soft part of Gravity, i.e.: calculations only. I know that it can become even fatal because if one cord is broken then we have to apply the general gravity equation for velocity with respect to time which is: v = gt + vi Since the initial velocity vi = 0 of a parachutist is negligible at the moment where a rope tears, the equation reduces to:v = gt where v is the vertical velocity of the object in meters/second (m/s) or feet/second (ft/s) g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s2 or 32 ft/s2) t is the time in seconds (s) that the object has fallen the power with which we hit the ground leaves now no doubt that Mrs. Gravity has to be feared...
