This looks nothing like I remember as a child in the fifties... We would paddle and fish for frogs spawn.. and have picnics with our parents... Their would be boats on the lake too... Every path was made by some ones feet , not sculpted... I can remember the prefabs too.... What has happened to my lake of dreams..?

Oh it’s still in good care me and my dad go bike rides around it everyday and it doesn’t get boring there’s tons of wildlife and people having fun they do water facilities and all the young people come to chill and I love it so there’s no need to worry

I was seven years old !! My parents called the shots not me ! My Dad came home from the war, we were living in a one bedroom flat just up from the Royal Oak pub.. We left here when I was twelve... Eventually wound up in Erith in Kent , then Surrey... But here in Highams park was where I discovered magic.. Remember the Kingfishers pool ?
