How stiff is that Applaud GT-R Ultra compared to something like Trilene XL?
@roandpixels127415 күн бұрын
Great question. Personally and based on my experience it’s stiffer. Still no flouro but that give is great for winter fishing and fraying. I love to use this line around cover. Holds up really well. Especially getting smallies out of river/log areas without losing them
@JohnSmith-ln8rh15 күн бұрын
@@roandpixels1274 Thanks for the response, I've been using Trilene XL for a a few years and it holds up extremely well. For example I have been using the same 14lb line for 4 months and it has been through multiple backlashes, but I was able to land a 6-7LB pike in late November with the line. The stiffer lines seem to weaken a lot after you get a kink into them, is this the case with the GT-R Ultra? Also, have you done much long distance casting with the GT-R Ultra or only close contact fishing (seems perfect for this application)?
@roandpixels127415 күн бұрын
@ so as far as kinks or backlashes it holds up really well. It takes a while for it to form any memory. I usually load up my exsence dc with it in spring and only reload it if I run low from tying any baits, which is almost non existent since I now use JDM snaps to switch out quickly even better hard baits and single ewg hooks or jigs. As far as long distance casting I do lob them out there my rivers have a decent width so it varies how far I have to cast. Especially with me moving near a lake now. I’ll get a good distance going of under 25yrds without any issue. I will say the dc reel helps with this

How does the wild beat 50 compares to the era or max glide bait? Debating on picking one up but I wanna make sure if the action is good, and he making the 55 size so I’m debating for the new model.
@roandpixels1274Ай бұрын
@@Zz-id5qp great question. So I have experience with the original era baits, but not the new iteration. From the original standpoint to the wild beat 50 I would pick the 50. I made a video a while back on the era and unless he improved the paint job it barely lasted 3 smallish before it started losing paint quick. The wild beat paint quality is just unmatched so far. The movement is also there with the right setup and line. So if I had to pick one I would get the 50. Once the season starts up again I’ll do a side by side. Again though I don’t have his newest era iteration

@@gman69455 personally with me running some vibration baits with trebles and this one with doubles, I would say way less.
