I believe Einstein's Theory of Relativity is in big trouble. I am told by scientists that Einstein's theories and quantum mechanics cannot both be true because they decisively contradict each other. One of the two has to go. Scientists tell me that Einstein will be the one to give way, because the proof for quantum mechanics is overwhelming and there have always been problems with Einstein's theories. Unfortunately, no one wants to admit this because it would mean admitting that physics has wasted a century on the Einstein cult.

I'm probably too stupid to understand this, but I don't get why it is assumed that the observer inside the spaceship will not notice that it takes more time for the light beam to travel from one mirror to another and therefore he won't notice any dilation. If the light spends more energy travelling forward together with the spaceship, then it moves slower up and down. Why would the person inside not notice this? Then, what if we put the clock horizontally? It will take forever for the light to travel from one mirror to another towards the direction in which the spaceship flies, as the spaceship flies with the speed, close to the speed of light, and it will return back in literally no time. Will the observer inside not notice this too? It's something my brain can't comprehend

The problem with this explanation is that it doesn’t explain all the concepts. Like saying that time moves and different rates depending on how fast you’re going is all well and good, but explain how and why. Is there no explanation of how that is the case? For most people, if you say “a day travelling close to the speed of light could be 50 years for someone on earth”, they’re going ask “how is that the case?”. This is what needs to be explained, the actual mechanics of why these things happen.

I'm no physicist, but shouldn't the light particle on the spaceship be traveling WITH the space ship, not perpendicular to it? For example, If Einstein is in the spaceship and turns on a flashlight pointing toward the front of the ship. That would mean the light is traveling the speed of light + the speed of light, which is impossible because the speed of light is constant. Right?

BUT, according to Einstein's own theory of relativity, Einstein can say that he's standing still in his ship and the clock on Earth is the one that's moving near the speed of light, so the observer on Earth would be the one who's time is slowing down, not Einstein in the spaceship. If i swing my arm real fast, both me and the observer will not see it because it is quicker than the eye. In marvel movies to state flash is also able to see himself traveling at those speeds would indicate his eyes are also that fast. It also would make sense because i assume his whole body got struck by lightning. Not that time slows down or faster for him. However, to say time slows down for him, having normal functioning eyes, contradicts the normal naked eye concept. Especially for the normal observer. And to claim here, Einstein is still calculating by observers, not time itself. No different than calculating universal rime by a world time clock such as time zones. The reading will be inaccurate.
